Compton is a really nice two-guard who is an impactful next-level player. He is a smooth operator on the floor. He has a really nice jumper too. His best ability is his shooting ability. He has great length and moves off the ball well. He can shoot the ball off balance, on the move, and catch-n-run nicely. He knows how to get his feet set and shoot the ball quick. He then can put them on the ground and find the open areas of the floor.

TNBA got down big in their first game of bracket play before going on a huge run in the second half to steal a one point win and move on. Compton got going as a wing shooter who can get into a rhythm quickly and is a confident pull-up shooter. It was nice to see Compton playing with confidence after watching his TNBA -Ohio team get a win without him on Friday. One of the more intriguing names to watch on the Hoop Group circuit for low major and Division II programs.

Compton provided a nice spark with his offensive dexterity throughout the weekend. He scored in a timely way and the hoop seemed to be as big as a dumpster, everything was falling for Compton! He scored off the ball as a catch and shooter. Compton was also active in passing lanes and came up with steals. He made plays for others and is a willing teammate. Even though he is a prolific scorer who has shows he doesn’t always need the ball to make an impact. He should see more division one suitors in the next months.

Compton is a natural scorer who lets the game come to him. He does a good job turning the corner on the attack. He has good positional size and length which allow him to propel his way to different spots on the floor. His versatility makes him a prospect who is hard to stop. Compton showed that he can find teammates for scoring chances. He can also score from behind the arc. On the defensive end he guarded multiple positions. He should see low to mid majors following his progress throughout the spring and summer.

After struggling from the floor to open the game, Compton had a strong second quarter run to help bring Elyria back competitive with the talented Wayne Memorial squad out of Michigan. Compton can knock down shots from the perimeter and did a nice job getting to the foul line as well. I also thought Compton had some tough rebounds in traffic, an area of his game I want to see more consistently. Elyria has had their ups and downs in their early season schedule but they have the talent to hit their stride in conference play.

Compton was our highest ranked prospect in attendance and the long term flashes you see from him offensively are quite intriguing. A great shooter from the perimeter, Compton is money when his feet are set. Compton is also improving as an athlete with a couple dunks and blocks that showed off his length and explosiveness. I’ve also noticed some improved passing and processing from Compton recently, making quicker decisions and fitting passes into tighter windows. I expect Compton to be a breakout star for Elyria this winter.
