Shelton had to figure out different ways to impact the game in this one. He proved me wrong and figured out to make a huge winning impact on this game. Once he settled into the speed and physical play of the game, he turned into a tough player to stop. He was knocking down threes from all over the court and showed great range off the dribble and catch-n-shoot. He was a pest to deal with defensively. He played an important role in being able to break the press by himself. Shelton played with great competitive drive.

Shelton is an ankle biting downhill Tasmanian devil who constantly finds ways to get paint touches. He really knows how to runs a team and is playing chess while everyone else is playing checkers. He has great chemistry with his teammates getting them the rock in all the right spots. His small stature allows him to stay low to the ground and allude opponents who get in his way. Shelton showed he could score from behind the arc. He goes a good job running the break in transition.

Another young point guard who got it done on an experience team, Shelton is a heart over height type player who does an excellent job defensively and as a distributor. I was impressed with his aggressiveness to attack the paint for his size and Shelton did a nice job of not forcing the ball up at the rim when he got downhill. A pest on the ball defensively as well, Shelton picked up an early offer to Central State. A name to know in northeast Ohio’s 2027 class.

Shelton is an impressive player as a sophomore for this good Lutheran West squad. He is a mature player who knows how to point guard at a high level. He does everything you want on the defensive end because of his quickness. He is in your shorts anytime you catch the ball. He is great in passing lanes and poking the ball out multiple times. He has quick hands. He is a skilled guard that can get to the rim well. He knows when to attack and when to pass it to the open teammate. He is a very impactful player.

Another undersized point guard, Shelton was a pest defensively with six first half steals. Shelton did an excellent job of pressuring ball handlers and reading the opposing guards by jumping passing lanes. Shelton was also rewarded as a scorer due to his defensive activity with a couple breakaway layups and even spot-up 3-pointers. Lutheran West has a new look team this year and Shelton has established himself as a key piece for their team this season.
