Prep Hoops Live over the weekend was a great opportunity for our staff to see a ton of prospects from the state of Illinois which we will be breaking down all week. Here we examine Prep Hoops Live: 2026 Wing and Post New Names Emerge!

[player_tooltip player_id='2388062' first='Justin' last='Paszkowski'] (Illinois T-Wolves)

Really liked what we saw with this 6'0” two guard from Plainfield East. He got the event started in style with his sharp shooting from the perimeter. Poured in an array of them off the catch along with mixing in some soft touch finishes on Friday night.

Brelan Hudley (Illinois T-Wolves)

There is some projectability with this 6'3” Oswego East wing. He has a wiry build with good length. Won on straight line takes along with getting in the paint for floaters. Did manage to hit one triple as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2435471' first='Darius' last='McKinney'] (UEBL Wolves)

McKinney jumped off the floor in warm ups as a 6'3” long and lanky small forward with a ton of athleticism. Looks like he could continue to grow. Long strides in transition with the ball in his hands, was active defensively, and hit a turnaround jumper. Late in the game his long ball came alive including pouring in the game winner on a pull up three for the victory. Keep an eye out for this Perspectives Joslin small forward!

Zachary Grabowski ([program_tooltip program_id='2414566' first='Mike' last='Glennon Elite'])

This Brother Rice small forward had 15 points in their opening night victory. Gritty wing that can shoot it with a clean and consistent shot. Got to the rim on straight line takes and was able to finish through contact. Should be a solid contributor for Brother Rice as a senior.

[player_tooltip player_id='2404320' first='Tyler' last='Reed'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075527' first='Ignite' last='Hoops'])

Massive game at 8:00 AM on Sunday morning for this Lake Zurich 6'3” small forward. The southpaw was super aggressive from the jump scoring 25 points in their win. Plus three point shooter with a quick and easy release. Assertive attacking off the bounce and cutting off the ball for layups and scores out of the dunker spot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1552433' first='Devin' last='Bach'] (M14 National 1)

The Hampshire wing goes 6'3” with a thick frame as a two guard that can knock down shots from the perimeter. His frame helps him finish around the hoop and get on the glass. Aggressive defender who has a knack for making plays on that side of the ball.

[player_tooltip player_id='2408504' first='Cole' last='Bero'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'])

Bero is a two guard that has a feel for putting the ball in the hoop. Crisp pull up game and gets to the charity stripe. Like his all-around game where he is a solid defender and capable off ball passer as a connector.

[player_tooltip player_id='2399391' first='Owen' last='Carroll'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'])

Carroll is a two guard that burst on the scene this spring for Lockdown. Like his ability as a three level scorer that can also get out in the open floor. Does it with pretty good efficiency as well.

Sam Golden (Powerhouse)

Not a massive game for Golden, but we still like what we see out of this Loyola two guard in our second look at him this spring. You have to like the shot making ability both creating off the bounce along with spotting up. Can also mix in some soft touch finishes.

Sean Pederson (Illinois Stars)

Pederson had a strong outing as the Wheaton North 6'3” small forward poured in 18 points in their Saturday afternoon victory. Creative scorer that can spot up from three, get on the offensive glass, and be a nifty finisher in the paint on drives.

[player_tooltip player_id='2414164' first='Jalen' last='Clardy'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2078449' first='Meanstreets' last=''] National)

Strong bodied 6'2” Bremen two guard that is a productive player. Snatches rebounds well from his guard spot on both ends of the floor. Capable of knocking in a three, but is most effective scoring in the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2390105' first='Henry' last='Herold'] (M14 National 1)

Herold is a 6'6” four man from Montini that has some upside. Lanky frame with face up ability. Was active on the offensive glass for put backs and had some acrobatic conversions in the paint including a nice reverse layup.

[player_tooltip player_id='2399378' first='Mason' last='Moore'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075386' first='Chicago' last='Lockdown'])

Long and broad shouldered four man from Andrew that has considerable potential. He flashed with a three, swatting a shot, and a massive put back dunk. The key for him will be bringing consistent production because the athletic gifts are certainly there for this 6'6” power forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2875738' first='Cornelius' last='Blakely'] ([program_tooltip program_id='2075732' first='Next' last='Generation'])

Blakely kind of fits a similar profile to Moore. Plainfield Central 6'5” power forward looks the part and shows glimpses of what he can do. Explosive offensive rebounder, banked in a mid-range jumper, and is a rim protector. Lot of untapped potential here. Could definitely see a small college or JUCO developing him.
