Midwest Melee featured an impressive lineup of backcourt talent, with young guards showcasing poise, scoring touch, defensive grit, and next-level basketball IQ. From knockdown shooters to floor generals, these players left their mark in a big way.    Benton proved to be a constant scoring threat for Road 2 Greatness with his ability to stretch the floor. Known early in games as a shooter who had to be accounted for, he made defenses pay whenever they gave him space. His quick-trigger release and ability to heat up in a flash made him a tone-setter offensively. Benton's microwave scoring ability gave Road 2 Greatness a critical edge all weekend.     Robinson put on a dominant display at the guard spot for [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'], bringing a complete game to the hardwood. He was a constant offensive threat, seamlessly getting into the paint, hitting corner threes, drawing fouls, and dishing out timely assists. With his strength and control, he dictated pace and got to his spots with ease. Robinson's consistency and leadership helped power [program_tooltip program_id='2078408' first='Team' last='Rose'] through tough matchups.     Carlson was a standout two-way presence on the perimeter for [program_tooltip program_id='2075515' first='Hoops' last='4 Health']. His vocal leadership and high basketball IQ made him one of the most composed and impactful guards in his age group.     Lambers ran the show for Muskegon Heat with exceptional command. Rarely flustered, he navigated pressure with calm and control, consistently making smart and timely passes. When looking to score, Lambers delivered at all three levels, showcasing touch, balance, and a high-level feel. One of the most complete guards at the event, he gave Muskegon a steady, reliable presence on every possession     Melendez was the unsung hero for Region Force, delivering game-changing energy on the defensive end. Despite being one of the smaller players on the floor, he played bigger than his frame—chasing down shots, contesting at the rim, and disrupting passing lanes with his active hands. His hustle fueled transition breaks and created momentum swings that didn't always show up on the stat sheet but were critical to his team's success.     Kessel was a steadying presence for Kessel 8, showcasing impressive feel and court awareness. His off-ball movement, sneaky handle, and next-level decision-making allowed him to impact games without forcing the issue. Kessel's calm demeanor and ability to anticipate plays before they happened elevated the rhythm and spacing of his team's offense throughout the weekend. His leadership was on full display during a massive comeback against Big 3 Basketball, where he carried the offense and lifted his team to a near-miraculous turnaround.
