On Saturday, I attended the New England Jam Fest at Dana Barros Basketball Club in Stoughton, MA. The event was filled with college prospects (and coaches) from all levels, and there were some really awesome matches. Over the next couple days, I'll be breaking down some of the standout players I saw. As always, it's impossible to catch every game and every player, and I try to strike a balance between seeing as many players as possible while also getting to know their games enough to accurately scout them.

Here are some wings who stood out.

Whittley-Ligon is a freak of an athlete who looks like a man amongst boys on the basketball court. The 6-foot-5 wing has a college-ready body right now and uses it to completely body defenders on his way to the cup. He also has above-the-rim hops once he touches the paint and is super willing to make kickout passes to his teammates for easy shots. He's certainly still a bit raw skill wise, but he seems to have the IQ necessary to grow in that area. I would imagine some scholarship coaches will be interested in Whittley-Ligon, but right now he strikes me as more of a D3 player.

Introzzi's combination of size, strength and skill is really impressive. The 6-foot-5 forward is a menace in transition and forces defenders out of his way at the thought of having to take contact from him. He uses slow steps and euro steps really well in the paint and is patient once the defense comes over to help, which allows him to finish with balance and control at the rim. He can also shoot it from the midrange and three. Introzzi is also a tight end in football, and I would imagine he's quite effective there as well. Big time athlete who will play a college sport somewhere, perhaps at the scholarship level.

Uveges was competing super hard on the floor all day. The 6-foot-5 wing was playing a bit at the forward position and despite being undersized, was holding his own on the boards and in the post defensively. He also hit an open three (showcasing a nice-looking shot) and had some nice takes to the rim – he has solid touch and feel in the paint. Uveges will probably be a solid D3 hooper but would be smart to work on his handle and ability to create from the perimeter if he wants to play at the highest level possible. He's a rising senior at Northwest Catholic High School.

Niv was PTT's best scorer and really impressed me with his shooting stroke. The 6-foot-4 wing moves very well without the ball and is always ready to shoot whenever he catches it. He has a beautiful release and great rotation on the ball. He also relocates super well after he gives the ball up, and he does a good job of still finding a shot after getting run off the three-point line. Niv is set to sign his national letter of intent to Colgate next week, where he'll play next year. Some added muscle and quickness will be huge for him if he wants to have a chance at seeing the floor for Colgate.

Wow. This was my first time seeing Wilkins in person and he certainly lived up to the hype. The 6-foot-8 wing/forward glides across the court like a deer and moves like he's a short guard; he's super on balance and controlled with his footwork and strides. He's also an above-the-rim athlete with freaky bounce. What impressed me the most, though, was his shooting stroke. Both off the catch and off the dribble, Wilkins can stroke it; he has great footwork, a nice-looking shot, and consistency with his mechanics. The sky's the limit for Wilkins, who should have another huge season at Brewster next year.
