Believe it or not, June basketball is just right around the corner which means we will be right back into high school play as summer kicks off. Spring AAU is in full swing right now, but that does not mean we cannot look ahead to June where we will see our in-state prospects get back with their respective high school squads for a full month. For the next few weeks, we will look at some players for each class and position group as I give you my personal watch list for the month of June. Of course, every player we have in the state is a must-watch, but here are four power forwards/centers in the 2026 class that you should focus on just a little bit more.

When it comes to that next tier of big man in the in-state 2026 class, [player_tooltip player_id='2046166' first='Joe' last='Taylor'] could make a case are arguably the best out of that bunch. At 6-foot-8, Taylor is a true inside force that scores so consistently on the block with really nice footwork for his size. This past season at Roncalli, Taylor put together an impressive junior year with his 11.2 points and 7.3 rebounds per game. The team that he plays on, [program_tooltip program_id='2076451' first='D1' last='Indiana'] 17u, has been very good all spring and Taylor is a big reason for that. He will be one of the top big men to watch in June.

You would be hard-pressed to find a player that is more productive in the Evansville area than what Evansville North power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1561076' first='Bryson' last='Chapman'] was this past season. Averaging 16.9 points and 7.9 rebound per game, Chapman put up one of the more impressive stat-lines at his position for his age group during his junior year. At around 6-foot-5, Chapman is a strong post that is versatile on the floor. He is an athletic finisher, comfortable enough handling it to create his own shot, and can knock down catch-and-shoot 3's.

One of the top post players in the in-state 2026 class that has seen his stock see a major rise over the years is Fort Wayne South's [player_tooltip player_id='1731843' first='Zachariah' last='Belcher']. At a true 6-foot-8, Belcher has proven to be one of the more dominant big men in the state with his above the rim finishing and ability to rebound both in, and out of his area. During his junior season, he led Fort Wayne South with 14.4 points and 6.8 rebounds while also contributing to nearly 3.0 blocks per game as well. An athletically gifted big man, Belcher is going to catch some eyes when June comes around and could potentially be the breakout player in his class.

If I am being completely honest, [player_tooltip player_id='2272232' first='Isaac' last='Pickel'] is starting to become one of my favorite players in this in-state 2026 class simply because of how hard he works on the floor for his 6-foot-8 size. Pickel started to make some waves this past season at Parke Heritage with his 10.4 points and nearly 7.0 rebound per game. He has parlayed a solid junior for PK with a really impressive showing so far this spring with Progeny 17u so far. Pickel is one of the best rim-running bigs we have in the state with an insanely high motor and true power around the rim. Would love to see if he could stretch the floor a bit more, but he is a guy that coaches at levels need to look at coming this summer.
