Jr. All City Classic: Game Two wing/forward standouts

All City Classic week kicked off on Tuesday night with the annual Jr. All City Classic showcasing the Philly area's top incoming freshmen over the course of two all-star games. After taking in both games of action, we'll start by highlighting standouts among a talented group of wings and forwards in the evening's second contest.    An easy choice for Defensive Player of the Game honors, Rothwell was by far the most physically and athletically advanced prospect we saw and put those tools to good use with a steadily-revving motor. He was all over the floor as a shot-blocker, rebounder, and transition scorer while showcasing some skill and footwork around the rim to go along with his athletic tools. Rothwell showed workable touch at the foul line and should be a capable contributor from day one in the Sallies' rotation.     Perhaps the highest upside prospect we saw all night, Lochetto didn't dominate with his production but showed high-level flashes that point to quite the long-term ceiling. Towering over most of the opposition, he's still a bit awkward but has a strong foundation of footwork and ball skills that came together on a handful of impressive dribble-drives that got the crowd out of their seats. On a steep development curve from struggling to catch and finish consistently a year ago, Lochetto may need some time adjusting to the high school level but should certainly be heard from before long.     Among the more versatile players in either game, Garner impressed with his well-rounded skillset in the frontcourt. The burly faceup forward showed scoring aptitude from all over the floor, whether he was banging in the post, working downhill off the bounce, or stretching defenses out to the arc. As he continues transitioning bulk into muscle with age and maturity, he figures to be a versatile defender as well given his aggressive mentality. With changeover expected across the Camden rotation, Garner could certainly be a factor early on with his size and versatility.     The truest low-post prospect taking part in either game, Graves showed an appealing foundation as a throwback big man with hints of modern elements. He stood out with great hands and a natural feel for the game when operating from the blocks or elbows. Continuing to get in shape will be key, with Graves' early track record in that regard being promising, as will building on the flashes he shows of being able to stretch the floor as a shooter. Nonetheless he looks advanced enough with his bread-and-butter post arsenal to have a chance to contribute early at the varsity level.     Still undecided on his high school destination, Littlejohn showed that whatever school he ultimately chooses will be getting a versatile weapon with the physicality to potentially contribute right away if called upon. The tough-nosed swingman impressed as a matchup problem for opposing forwards with his blend of skill, quickness, and physicality off the dribble. We'll look to see more from the finer elements of his game in further evaluations but he looked to be among the more well-rounded wing forwards among the local incoming freshman class.
