Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
One of a handful of freshmen making an instant splash for some of the state’s top teams, Littlejohn took a bit to settle into the game but would impress as things progressed on his way to a workmanlike 12 points. Playing as the nominal center, he was active inside, utilizing his strong body to establish position within 15 feet before punishing weaker defenders with physical finishes around the bucket. His flashes of ball skills while attacking from the perimeter offered a glimpse of where his long-term upside could be while he continues to add finesse. While he’s a bit of a tweener for the time being, Littlejohn has plenty of time to iron out his positional designation while his size and production place him on D1 watch lists already at this early stage.

Without being an elite athlete physically, Littlejohn constantly wins with his basketball IG, feel and skill. He doesn’t need to score to contribute because he can co-create for his teammates out of the low post and high post. And when others swing the ball or drop it off to him, Littlejohn finds angles to score through traffic. On the defensive end, he unselfishly takes on bigger and stronger players and crashes the boards to get the ball back to his team.

With no shortage of perimeter players on the Hornets roster, someone has to do the dirty work inside; and Littlejohn is more than up to the task. The combo forward is effective passing out of the high/low post, as well as scoring from those spots. His biggest contributions will come from his willingness to guard and rebound against taller and stronger forwards. So Littlejohn may not be in a featured role yet, but his role will be pivotal to the team’s success.

Littlejohn is comfortable being the “junkyard dog,” battling traditional bigs in the post and cleaning the glass, but he’s more than that. The combo forward can make plays inside the arc and get a bucket when needed.

Still undecided on his high school destination, Littlejohn showed that whatever school he ultimately chooses will be getting a versatile weapon with the physicality to potentially contribute right away if called upon. The tough-nosed swingman impressed as a matchup problem for opposing forwards with his blend of skill, quickness, and physicality off the dribble. We’ll look to see more from the finer elements of his game in further evaluations but he looked to be among the more well-rounded wing forwards among the local incoming freshman class.
