Big Shots came to Richmond with Paul Biancardi at the Henrico Sports Complex, bringing with them some of the top teams from across VA and the entire east coast. With so much talent in the building, we'll take a look over the next few days of some of the best players from the event. Here's a look at some of the 16U standouts from VA.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470549' first='Makel' last='Minor'] | 6'2” CG | [program_tooltip program_id='2226307' first='Team' last='Loaded VA']

Minor is set to have a breakout summer this year, as he's looking like a high major player and arguably a nationally ranked prospect with how he's playing so far this summer. The 6'2” guard can flat out fill it up in bunches, and he is as confident a scorer as you will find as he showed a deep bag of tricks and made tough shots from all over the floor. He showed impressive range off the catch and off the bounce that would exceed the NBA line, he used step backs and spins with great balance, he finished with both hands on both sides of the rim and he showed his ability to get to the line to get things going.

[player_tooltip player_id='2353620' first='Troy' last='Tomlin'] | 6'5” WG | [program_tooltip program_id='2226307' first='Team' last='Loaded VA']

Tomlin is another prospect you're going to hear a lot about this summer with this Loaded group, and while Minor may have the scoring bag on lock, Tomlin is the one that cameras will follow with his highlight reel finishing ability. The 6'5” wing is a big time athlete who played above the rim easily and fearlessly, hunting the rim in transition and when getting downhill and he didn't care who was in the way. He showed good instincts and anticipation defensively and has a lot of potential to be a lock down perimeter defender, he shot the ball well off the catch and it's hard to believe that he's anywhere close to his full potential moving forward.

[player_tooltip player_id='2470573' first='Cam' last='Claiborne'] | 5'11” PG | [program_tooltip program_id='2226307' first='Team' last='Loaded VA']

Claiborne is a player that on both this Loaded team and his John Marshall team often gets over shadowed and doesn't get the love he deserves, but whenever I watch him play his impact can't be understated as a high IQ guard who sets the tone on both ends of the floor. He was fantastic defensively picking up guards full court, jumping passing lanes and showing great anticipation to jump and trap when ball handlers weren't looking. He showed a good handle and the ability to handle and stay out of pressure, he finished well in traffic, he picked his spots and scored it efficiently and he made great decisions and winning plays with very few mistakes.

[player_tooltip player_id='2348972' first='Colton' last='Davis'] | 6'4” WF | [program_tooltip program_id='2227208' first='Hill' last='City Crash']

Davis caught my eye in the Fall and had a good sophomore season for Liberty Christian this year, and when watching him in the AAU setting he was impressive with his ability to make shots and be a leader for his team. He showed great range with effortless and great frame off the catch, he showed the ability to create space off the bounce, he got to the line often and he was very vocal on the defensive end and when encouraging his teammates as well.

[player_tooltip player_id='2853450' first='Farrell' last='Djossinou'] | 6'5” WF | VA Elite

Djossinou was an All Region selection at Lightridge this past year as a junior, and he plays on the 16U group as he plans to take another year whether it's through reclass or a prep year, and when he does go 2027 he should be on a lot of college radars. He's the type of player you notice right away, as he looks like he was built to play basketball with a great frame and long arm in an athletic 6'5” body. He showed that athleticism with a couple of rim rockers in transition, he made some tough shots from deep and in the midrange and he has a ton of potential to be a defensive stopper at the next level.

Jon Farley | 6'5” WF | VA Elite

Farley is another impressive long term prospect who had a good season for a talented DeMatha team, and he's another player who will catch your eye immediately with his big frame and his natural athleticism. What also catches your eye very quickly with him is his high motor, as he plays like someone lit a fire under him flying around, running the floor and doing the dirty work for his team. He showed good athleticism finishing at the rim and running the floor, he showed he can defend multiple positions, he rebounded well and he showed the ability to score at multiple levels.
