On Sunday, April 27th, I attended the Zero Gravity Rumble for the Ring at Dana Barros Basketball Club. I caught some games from each of the high school divisions, though it's impossible to see everybody play. Below is part two of the standouts I came across.

Eason is a very powerful force for a 9th grader. The 6-foot-5 wing/forward was able to play up in the 10th grade division and still dominate with his size, length and strength. He was a menace on the offensive glass and protected the rim well on the defensive end. He has a nice ambidextrous game which allows him to finish with both hands, though he's still a bit raw on that end. Some added offensive skill in the shooting and handling departments would be huge for Eason, who has a very bright future ahead as a big, athletic, do-it-all wing. He should have a big season at St. Paul's next year.

Earle is an absolute hooper. The 6-foot-2 combo-guard makes such quick decisions and is so comfortable on the basketball court. He never holds the ball for too long and always knows what he's going to do with it before it gets swung to him, which makes him an excellent closeout driver and a really nice role player. However, he also has on-ball chops and can run a lot of good offense for the Magic. He's a really nice player who you can tell understands how to play the game the right way. He also has a beautiful shot. Sky's the limit for Earle who should be a massive piece for Wilbraham next season.

White was one of the better defenders I saw on Sunday. Despite pressuring aggressively for the entire game, he was able to provide a consistent level of effort and intensity throughout. He fights over screens quite well and recovers fabulously once he's beat off the dribble. Offensively, he does a great job running the offense and making simple plays; he always makes the extra pass and is a master at the drive and kick game. The lefty also handles it very well against pressure and can shoot it from three. White will be reclassifying and going to Dexter next year, where he should really thrive.

McClure really impressed me with his basketball skill, IQ and fundamentals. He reminds me of Earle in the sense that as soon as you see him play a couple possessions offensively, you can tell he knows how to play the game the right way. He handles it well and can really shoot it from both the midrange and three; he has a beautiful release that he gets off quite quickly. For a freshman, it's quite impressive how fundamentally sound he looks. Phillips Exeter is the perfect environment for McClure, who should shine there next season and beyond.

Leichtman was Blizz's most consistent offensive player, and I was impressed with the balance in his game. He had some nice takes to the rim where he finished using his length and size, but he's also able to knock down shots from the outside and handle it to create his own shot. I was most impressed with his jab step game and his ability to get the defense off balance without dribbling. Leichtman should be a really nice high school player who could play at the next level if he continues to grow and develop his body. I would imagine he'll get lots of minutes and be a key player at Sharon High School next season.
