Handling most of the ball handling responsibilities for this Shoreshots 16U team over the weekend, [player_tooltip player_id='2201947' first='Anthony' last='Gonzalez'] stood out in the ways he was able to generate rim pressure. Effectively using different change of direction moves to get to the basket, Gonzalez was aggressive in getting downhill— playing off bumps and playing through contact on dribble drives and finishing, with craftiness, evading defenders in the paint. Gonzalez's aggression also rewarded him ample trips to the free throw line throughout the course of the weekend, as he shot 81% from the free throw line. Look for Gonzalez to showcase more of his perimeter shooting ability heading into session two next month.

What makes [player_tooltip player_id='2634707' first='Kuai' last='Deng'] an intriguing prospect at his size was on full display throughout the course of session one this past weekend. Deng showcased his smooth mobility and fluidity at 6'10"— sprinting the floor in transition and playing out of DHO's and off dribble drives in halfcourt sets. In Shoreshots' matchup against IFN, Deng also showed how capable he is at being effective against a zone— whether that was turning and facing and creating offense for himself or looking opposite and finding open shooters. Look for Deng to continue to build off what was a solid weekend for him heading into session two next month in Ohio.

Throughout the course of the weekend, [player_tooltip player_id='2202014' first='Rey' last='Weinseimer'] excelled as a reliable source of offense for Shoreshots 16s, particularly off the ball. Weinseimer thrived cutting backdoor to the basket, hitting catch and shoot threes off screens and hitting pull up jumpers. Weinseimer also even contributing in the rebounding department, getting often times crashing on the offensive glass and coming down with rebounds and securing extra possessions for his team. Look for Weinseimer to continue excelling as an off ball threat offensively for this 16U Shoreshots team going into session two.

[player_tooltip player_id='1411649' first='Tobe' last='Nwobu'] shouldered a large portion of the ball handling responsibilities and was effective and setting the table for this 17U team— initiating offense and getting his teammates involved, and that was reflective in his 4.6 assist to turnover ratio. Nwobu was also effective off the ball as a catch and shoot threat from three point range, shooting 47.4% from three point range over the course of the weekend.

Over the course of session one this weekend, [player_tooltip player_id='1963393' first='Tyrease' last='Hunter'] was ultra effective as a spot up perimeter shooter, shooting 35.7% from three point range. Continuing to improve on his efficiency, Hunter showed flashes of letting his shooting ability open up other offense for him, ultimately attacking closeouts and getting to the rim. Heading into session two, look for Hunter to continue to showcase his perimeter to provide offense for this 17U team out of the guard position.
