The #2 Prospect in South Carolina's Freshman Class [player_tooltip player_id='1982894' first='RJ' last='Davis'] leads off my list of 2028 Standouts from the Phenom Grassroots TOC. He was extremely active in the early stages of Team CP3's matchup with [program_tooltip program_id='2078752' first='Upward' last='Stars 3SSB']. CP3 has a big roster, so this allowed Davis to show off a different side of his game - one that should intrigue College Coaches. He was terrific in transition, frequently beating defenders down the floor and finishing with flair at the rim. RJ also showed off a good handle and strength in finishing in the paint. Davis went for 17 points and 6 rebounds in the loss.

Zyion was a huge part of [program_tooltip program_id='2078752' first='Upward' last='Stars 3SSB']'s win over Team CP3. He came off the bench and was the perfect piece to finish the puzzle in crunch time. Jones made his impact felt with active on-ball defense, picking up opposing ball handlers and using his length to disrupt things. When off the ball, he had some strong box outs and rotated well to challenge shots. He also had a few impressive moves on the offensive end of the floor, including one really good move with his back to the basket. This was the best game I've seen from Zyion so far and one that proves his long-term potential.

Gregory plays like a true Point Guard for this Palmetto City Hurricanes squad and was a bright spot for them in the loss to [program_tooltip program_id='2078724' first='Carolina' last='Pressure']. Williams was calm under pressure, good in the pick-and-roll, had a crafty handle, read the floor well, and frequently split defenders. His game is built around setting his teammates up, but Gregory did have a couple of nice buckets of his own including a tough lefty lay and a pair of off-the-dribble threes.

Jackson left a great first impression on me in Rock Hill this weekend. He is a gifted scorer who handles the ball well when looking to create his own looks. Reece is also fast when getting out in transition and can beat defenders in the half-court. When off the ball, Jackson stays active and is an intelligent cutter. The most impressive of Reece's buckets was a stepback jumper in the second half where he created a mile of space and elevated with good form from the floor up.

[player_tooltip player_id='2624989' first='Christopher' last='McClenic'] is the second of two eye-openers from [program_tooltip program_id='2078724' first='Carolina' last='Pressure']'s win over Palmetto City Hurricanes. He put up 17 points in the game, showcasing an intriguing combination of length and athleticism. Chris had several strong finishes in the paint including a pair of and-ones. He also looked polished with his back to the basket. On the defensive end, McClenic stalks the paint, looking to protect the rim by effecting shots.
