The Grassroots Season is here! I was back on the road this weekend for the first two days of the Phenom Hoops Grassroots Tip Off Classic in Rock Hill, South Carolina. It was an action-packed slate featuring some of South Carolina's most talented prospects and best teams. Take a look at these six 2026s that stood out from the Phenom Hoops Grassroots Tip Off Classic:

First up on my 2026 Standouts from the Phenom Grassroots Tip Off Classic is [player_tooltip player_id='1364910' first='Braysen' last='Stockman']. He is one of the state's top shooters and showcased that in his 14-point performance in the [program_tooltip program_id='2413030' first='Middleton' last='Hoops Elite']'s win over Anthony Morrow Elite. Stockman had three made threes in that game, knocking them down off the dribble and spotting up. Although he did have significant usage as a facilitator, Braysen was used off the ball more than during the High School season. When he had the ball in his hands, Stockman handled it well at speed and had a few nice dribble moves to help him get into the lane.

Everett Jr is another one of [program_tooltip program_id='2413030' first='Middleton' last='Hoops Elite']'s 2026s who performed well on Saturday. Clayton is a long, slashing, off-ball guard who attacks the rim and forces the issue on defense. He showcased his two-way potential with an impressive steal leading to a transition and-one, but was in passing lanes all game long. Everett Jr is bouncy around the rim, finishes strong with his dominant hand, and has a good crossover to get past his defender. Clayton finished with 10 points in the game-two win.

[player_tooltip player_id='1847523' first='Jackson' last='Conley'] had a terrific game in the matchup with MHE 2027 - one of the best I've seen from him in person. He looked strong and aggressive throughout the game, but he was particularly active in the first half when he put up 10 points. Jackson finished through contact, showed mobility on the offensive end, and worked hard on the glass. His offense production was quite balanced, featuring alley-oops, back-the-basket buckets, short-range jumpers, and pick-and-roll finishes. He tallied 16 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 blocks in the overtime loss.

McFadden is a big-bodied post who runs with [program_tooltip program_id='2519838' first='Noble' last='Knights'] on the Grassroots Circuit. Although he started out the game by settling for a couple of threes, Terrance found his footing in the game with a pair of chances on the offensive glass. Despite his big frame, McFadden does move well and is confident with the ball in his hands. Terrance also displayed good touch on shots in the paint, favoring a right-handed hook when working with his back to the basket. He is not the most athletic forward or dominant rim protector, but McFadden is a solid option on the offensive end of the floor.

Dorian is a hometown Standout from the 2025 Phenom Grassroots TOC. Reeves Jr and Next Level SC had a dominant game in their second game Friday Night, and he went for 14 points and 4 assists in the win. His offensive production was balanced between scoring and facilitating, but it all played off his ability to get the ball into the paint. Reeves Jr is a strong driver who will play off two around the basket. This allowed for more space for his outside shot and less attention on his bigs as they dove to the basket.

[player_tooltip player_id='2376842' first='TJ' last='Troy'] is now with the Palmetto City Hurricanes, and it was good to see him back on the court after missing the High School season due to the transfer rule. He had a nice performance for PCH in their tournament-opening loss to Tru Elite in overtime. When it comes to making plays for others, Troy was one of the best in the gym on Friday and tallied 6 assists. He is a pass-first Point Guard, looking to get his teammates involved in the offense early and often. TJ has good vision, a tight handle, and likes to get out in transition.
