Phenom Challenge: Top 2027s

Prep Hoops SC was in attendance for Day One, evaluating some of the best the state has to offer. I caught up with him in 3D Elite's win over Upward Upstate, and he was impressive as a lead Guard. Knowles started each half on the bench, but those were the only minutes he sat for the entire game. Keyon was extremely effective with his ability to drive the ball and get paint touches. This can be attributed to his elite quickness and nasty handle. Knowles is also creative at the rim and a capable shooter. James adds valuable spacing to the offense thanks to the threat of his perimeter shot. He would also have sets run to get him open at various points in the game. James stayed active despite having a couple of misses early in the game while making hustle plays and crashing the glass. He was extremely impressive playing up with FCA Upstate in the 17U Division with 6 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists. Santoni's specialty is playmaking, but he does a little bit of everything on the floor to help impact winning. "Dee" is a highlight waiting to happen with bounce, flashy passing, and a quick handle. He balanced scoring and facilitating in the first half, then took over the scoring load in the second when his team struggled to get buckets. Jaquavious is great in transition but can also create scoring chances in the half-court. He had a well-rounded showing in their loss to HYAA Elite, making plays on both ends of the floor. Moss continued to show his improved jump shot with a confident fadeaway shot in the mid-range and a spot-up three. He also ran the floor well and finished strong in transition.
