GBL Session 1 Friday Night Standouts

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>This weekend I am in Columbus Ohio at Fieldhouse USA. Friday night was exclusive to the Grassroots Basketball League (GBL) session 1. He has the footwork and the strength to get to his spot and score. He will need to continue to get bigger and stronger but his ability to attack angles. He beats defenders to the place and then knocks down tough shots. He made a tightly contested game-winning three for NW Ohio that capped off a 30-point performance in the game I caught this weekend. He is a quick twitch athlete who is able to keep the defense off balance. He uses his length well in the lane to extend on finishes and quick makes over the defensive hands. He elevates well. Showed creative and efficient ways to finish at the rim. He covers all areas of the floor, and this was shown as well with knocking down some off-the-dribble threes as well. He has good size and length. He showed some really nice footwork in the post with a back-to-the-basket game. He hit a pair of turnarounds. This showed some nice touches that continued to shine throughout the rest of the game with finishes inside the free-throw line. He stepped out and knocked down some threes. He does everything well and does not make mistakes, which is perfect for a point guard. He is a good athlete and gets to the rim well. He impacted the game greatly and when he was out of the game his absence was felt. The game got a little chippy and Sensabaugh turned up. That is the type of player Elchert is. He is a strong defender who can guard any position on the floor and is a good rebounder. He is a straight-line driver that does not get bumped off his driving line. He finished at the rim and was a consistent scorer for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'] Black 16U squad. You see when he runs the fast break players run a little harder because the ball is going to them if they are open. He had multiple nice pocket passes that many players can not make. During the AAU season players having to play a different role for their team most struggle with that task. Markley does not. He plays the third piece for this excellently. He is a solid player who makes plays when they need him too. He was efficient with his touches. He makes quick and decisive moves in the post.
