I really enjoy how competitive Leppelmeier is as he finds a way to impact the game in so many ways. On the defensive end it seems like he gets his hand on the ball whether it’s jumping a passing lane or stripping a ball handler. One of the best passers I saw all weekend, Leppelmeier can execute set plays for backdoor cuts or spot-up 3-pointers, but he also advances the ball up the court in transition unselfishly. As a driver, Leppelmeier plays off two feet and stays on balance to finish through contact and despite leaving a few points at the rim, I still loved his process to get high percentage looks. Everything I see from Leppelmeier’s game makes me believe he’s a high priority small college recruit
Leppelmeier is a bucket-getter that can translate to the next level. He has the footwork and the strength to get to his spot and score. He will need to continue to get bigger and stronger but his ability to attack angles. He beats defenders to the place and then knocks down tough shots. He made a tightly contested game-winning three for NW Ohio that capped off a 30-point performance in the game I caught this weekend. His high motor was seen throughout.
One of the top small town teams in northwest Ohio, Pettisville went 17-4 this season with Leppelmeier leading the way. Another player I got to see this summer, Leppelmeier’s northwest Ohio team made their way to Columbus for a Prep Hoops Circuit event. I was impressed by his decision making as a passer and patience attacking off the bounce. Pettisville split the conference title with Edon and Montpelier and Leppelmeier scored 38 points in a signature victory over Montpelier, his best performance of the season. Look for regional small college programs to get familiar with Leppelmeier this summer.
Watch this kid to be a breakout player in this event. He is a baller. He has a great competitive edge and motor. He just finds ways to put the ball in the rim very efficiently. He has a good strong build that allows him to dictate and use contact to his advantage while getting to the rim and finishing. He has good touch and gets fouled a lot in the paint. He does a good job of operating near the rim. He can shoot it very well. He does a great job of attacking the scoring angles.
Leppelmeier is a walking bucket getter. He is a pure hooper I’ve seen in May. He is a three-level scorer who has amazing footwork and seeks out contact. He is a very strong player and it shows through his play. He will go through your chest to finish the ball. He knows how to play the game the right way and has an amazing feel. He is extremely tough. He showed great patience in the paint and footwork. He is a heck of a player.
