One of the more talented scorers in Ohio's 2027 class, Nunez came to Ohio from New York and has shown the ability to score the basketball at a high level. With a quick first step and the ability to beat defenders off the dribble, Nunez is a tough cover as a wing guard creator. I've only caught one game of Nunez in person and he flashed an impressive offensive skillset and athletic ability. With interest from a handful of Big 10 programs and other high major conferences, he'll be a name to watch in the class of 2027.

One of the more intriguing long term names to watch in the class of 2027, Ivery has hit his stride and is one of the most improved players in the state from the summer to now in the class of 2027. With big time athletic upside, Ivery is filling out his frame and excels in transition. Ivery is a unique finisher at the rim, preferring to finish with his right hand despite being a left-handed jump-shooter. Improving as a shooter, Ivery knocked down a handful of 3-pointers in a regional final blowout win over Bishop Ready. Defensively might be where I'm most intrigued with Ivery's length and ability to disrupt ball handlers progress and jump passing lanes. I expect Ivery to get some real Division I interest this spring playing for the [program_tooltip program_id='2075761' first='Ohio' last='Buckets'].

One of the tallest prospects in Ohio, Kalau has intriguing upside with his length, ability to protect the rim and finish at the basket. Still developing an offensive skillset to catch and finish against other players his size but Kalau has shown improvement when he's been able to stay healthy and on the court. I like how aggressive Kalau is looking to dunk the basketball when he catches it in the paint. A name we'll continue to monitor over the next few years.

I saw the breakout performance for Carr-Short in a win over Trotwood-Madison in the regional final. I was impressed with his activity at the rim and motor he played with against maybe the biggest center in the state. Also knocking down a 3-pointer as well, Carr-Short has very intriguing long-term upside. On a veteran Cincinnati Aiken squad that's ran through the CMAC the past two seasons, guys like Carr-Short show that the Falcons will still be a powerhouse to contend with next season as well.

One of the most athletic players in Ohio, Mack had maybe the dunk of the summer in 2024 when he postered a defender by attacking baseline at a EYBL session. Mack is back with [program_tooltip program_id='2320052' first='All' last='Ohio Red'] and I'll be curious to see how he looks after I haven't gotten to see him play in person for a while. If Mack shows developments in other areas of his game besides just being a run and jump transition athlete, he could easily see himself rise on this list. He put up some intriguing scoring numbers for Mansfield Christian as a Sophomore and I'll be curious how his offensive game translates on the grassroots scene.
