In what was an electric night at UIC the second game of the doubleheader was a rematch from the Big Dipper. Top-ranked Kenwood faced off against Rich Township and the last spot in the 4A state playoffs.

Kenwood jumped out early in the game and was in control up until third quarter when Rich Township went on a run and had a slight lead before Kenwood tied the game and it went into overtime. In OT Rich Township managed to string together points and stops to secure a victory and a trip down state.

[player_tooltip player_id='1766460' first='Al' last='Brooks'] Jr. 2025 Rich Township

Mr. Does It All had a career night against Kenwood. Al played to his strengths driving to the basket against the Broncos forwards scoring with various layups and put-backs. He was unguardable at times getting downhill and weaving through defenders. His energy and effort were very infectious to his team and gave them life when they got down big. Brooks led all scorers with 27 points and 15 rebounds.

[player_tooltip player_id='1845352' first='Jamson' last='Coulter'] 2026 Rich Township

Another player who started the game hot with his shooting and ability to play bully ball at the rim was this junior. Coulter paced the Raptors early with his shooting hitting two 3s and the rest was from attacking guys in transition and using his body to score at the rim. At the end of the night he had 17 points and is heading downstate for the first time.

[player_tooltip player_id='2734366' first='Jayden' last='Williams'] 2026 Rich Township

Williams' story was the opposite of Coulter. He didn't assert himself until the second half. In the third quarter he increased his attempts looking more to score after only having 4 in the first half. After having huge games against Marist and Homewood Flossmoor Jayden waited to make a mark by scoring 12 in the second half getting to the basket and forcing fouls on the Broncos. He finished with 16 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1385290' first='Amari' last='Edwards'] 2025 Kenwood

Amari had a very good start to the game scoring for the Broncos with 14 points in the first couple of minutes in the game. At one point all in attendance felt that Edwards was on the verge of having another take-over game at UIC to get back down state for his second year straight and Kenwood's first time. In the second half he picked up some fouls and didn't get as many touches in the second half of the game. He led Kenwood with 23 points and shot the ball well from three going 3 for 4 on the night.

[player_tooltip player_id='2125612' first='Devin' last='Cleveland'] 2027 Kenwood

The state's top sophomore did what he always does and that's make defenders look ridiculous. Devin had several plays in this matchup that could go viral but his impact on scoring was huge. He played well across from Edwards going 2 for 3 from behind the arc and mixed in some high-level pull up jumpers and layups at the rim. He finished the game with 14 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2323622' first='Damari' last='Stephens'] 2027 Kenwood

Stephens played a big role off the bench for the Broncos playing as a third ball handler and release for Edwards and Cleveland. Damari has a wide frame but is mobile with the ball in his hands. He got to the basket several times in key situations and each time he was fouled in the process. Damari scored 15 points and also pulled in 9 rebounds with four of them on the offensive glass.
