In this article we highlight players from Teams 5 and 6 at the Prep Hoops Illinois NEXT Middle School Camp

Team 5

[player_tooltip player_id='2369888' first='Jordan' last='Sneed'] 2029 Marquardt 5'4

Sneed is a terrific great change-of-pace guard who gets to the basket with his second gear. He's ahead of the curve already because he can finish with either hand with ease. Jordan is a natural at PG and does a good job at moving the ball to his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2381466' first='Kona' last='Basile'] 2029 Fairview South School 5'6

Basile is a big guard who could become a wing in high school. He has a solid handle with the rock. Basile scores well off two feet when driving to the basket. He is another player who can finish with either hand. As a shooter Kona didn't take a ton of shots from deep but the one he shot was nothing but net.

[player_tooltip player_id='2807690' first='Xayden' last='Gamboa'] Thompson Jr. High 5'9

A big part of Gamboa's game is his motor and how hard he played on both ends of the court. He scored often off fastbreaks using euro steps to score at the basket. Xayden also showed some touch in the paint hitting a high arching floater a few times. As a shooter a few of his shots never touched the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2715999' first='Reuben' last='Clinton'] 2030 Franklin Middle School 6'0

Skilled wing who can get to the basket off one or two dribbles. He's a right-handed player but can score with his off-hand just as well. Clinton also made a shot in transition with fluidity. Rueben runs the floor well and doesn't struggle with guarding smaller players. Was solid on the glass and scored a couple of buckets off missed shots.

Team 6

[player_tooltip player_id='2369872' first='Cody' last='Rader'] 2029 Geneva 5'9

One of the most well-rounded players at the camp. Cody is an exciting lead guard who gets the ball out quickly. He likes to make flashy passes when given enough space. He shoots the ball with consistency and has the right touch to score buckets from mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2400061' first='Jackson' last='Griffin'] 2029 Gwendolyn Brooks Middle 6'0

Griffin is a steady big man. He was active on the glass being physical around the basket. One of the few kids who kept the ball high on putbacks. Griffin ran the court well on fast breaks and finished several layups through contact. He showed good footwork when covering the smaller guards on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2400236' first='Taj' last='Williams'] 2030 Yorkville Middle 5'6

I was a fan of Taj because he's very active on both sides of the ball. He's a three-level scorer who can fill it up from three. Around the basket he's tough and can finish with scoop layups and floaters. Williams may be one of the better defenders at the camp because he applied lots of pressure on the opposing team which caused them to turn the ball over.

[player_tooltip player_id='2385677' first='Noah' last='Young'] 2029 Cics Irving Park 5'6

Noah is a player who played with good energy and pace. I was in awe of his shiftiness with the ball and how good of a passer he was. His look and feel of the game reminded me of former Chicago Bulls player Kirk Hinrich . Young plays with moxy. A high-level shooting maker with some stuff to his game. He can be on someone's radar in 2 years.
