There were 403 teams that started the journey to Gainbridge Fieldhouse last week. Then, on Saturday, we crowned 64 Sectional Champions. We will cut that field in half once again this coming Saturday in the Regional round. As always, Prep Hoops Indiana had boots on the ground coverage throughout Sectional week and will be hitting a handful of different gyms for Regional action as well. As we did prior to Sectional week, we will spend this week previewing the 32 Regional matchups that will be played on Saturday, March 15th. Here is our preview of the four Regionals that make up the Class 2A North.

Best Regional

By a pretty large margin in my opinion, the best regional matchup in northern 2A is going to be between Bishop Luers and Gary 21st Century at North Judson, arguably the two top contenders to make it to state in this area. Starting with the Knights, they steamrolled through Sectional 36 beating Bluffton, South Adams and Woodlan to get tot his point. For Gary 21st, they also took care of business pretty easily up to this point with monster wins over Lighthouse, Andrean, and Hebron. This game comes down to the Luers big three of [player_tooltip player_id='1297012' first='Danny' last='Kelly'] and the Trusedale twins vs the big three of Gary 21st, Demetrius Williams, [player_tooltip player_id='1561080' first='Terrence' last='Hayes'], and Ronald Mosely. Obviously, the amount of talent in this one single is what makes this Regional standout for Class 2A North, which is why it should easily be viewed as the best. Luers has the experience over Gary 21st by a slight margin, but the Cougars have the talent to make this game.

Under-the-Radar Regional

The Regional matchup at Logansport between Manchester and Tipton could have made a strong case to be viewed as "the best" in Class 2A North, as well. The matchup here is easily between both Grace's signees [player_tooltip player_id='1297028' first='Gavin' last='Betten'] (Manchester) and [player_tooltip player_id='1297029' first='Grady' last='Carpenter'] (Tipton), two alphas for their respective teams. Tipton came out of a tough Sectional 39 with wins over Taylor, Sheridan, and Frankton while Manchester had dominant wins over Rochester and Oak Hill in Sectional 38. While you know both Betten and Carpenter are going to showcase themselves, this game is going to come down to which of the supporting cast for each teams step up the most. This game is easily one of the more balanced matchups you'll find across the state on Saturday.
