The inaugural Mid-Major Classic took place on Sunday, March 16, and 40 of the top 1A/2A/3A players in the state gathered to play competitive all-star games against one another in front of a packed gym at Riverside High School in West Linn. Lining one wall of the gym were a whole host of college coaches from the D-III/NAIA/JC ranks to watch the talent on display, and after checking our own notes, we checked in with them along with some other trusted observers to see who they thought were the top performers on the day. After tallying up the votes, here's the top five.

An unanimous selection from everyone we polled, the well-built 6-foot-5 Hill dominated inside as expected as one of the true big men at the event, but as the likely 3A Player of the Year did all season, he was nimble on his feet, ran the floor well, and showed touch on his shot from the perimeter. He showed off some of his Nikola Jokic-esque skills by setting up shop at the top of the key and utilizing his tremendous passing skills to find open teammates. He averaged 16.5 points and 11 rebounds while shooting 15-for-19 from the field in two wins as Team Martin took home inaugural Mid-Major Classic title.

The two-time 2A Player of the Year was the other unanimous selection from everyone we talked to and the 5-foot-10 guard did at the Mid-Major Classic what he's done his entire high school career - get buckets. He scored a total of 39 points in two games, scoring at all three levels on 16-for-23 field goal shooting, 5-for-7 from three-point range. Hall didn't just fire away either as he tallied 6 assists versus only 1 turnover, and also hit the boards hard averaging 9 rebounds in Team Martin's two wins.

Admittedly, the roster of Team Martin was loaded on paper but they still had to perform and that's what Rosenberg did. The biggest player at the event at 6-foot-6, he certainly dominated the paint but did so not just with his raw size but used advanced footwork and a soft touch around the hoop to get scores. The Dayton senioralso stepped outside the lane to drain some mid-range jumpers including a couple of threes in the title game. A menace on the boards on both ends of the floor, Rosenberg averaged 16 points and 10.5 rebounds on 14-for-24 field goal shooting in the team's two wins.

One of the few players already committed to a college - Dimpflmaier is headed to Pacific (Ore.) - the Horizon Christian senior really caught the eyes of observers in the Mid-Major Classic finals with his athleticism, motor, and ability to make difficult shots. He notched a team-high 18 points on a variety of jumpers and creative moves to the hoop, all while shooting a high percentage at 8-for-14 from the field.

The state's all-time leading scorer was solid throughout the Mid-Major Classic, scoring 10 points each in both games for Team Martin. In an all-star setting he wasn't going to get a ton of shots, but he made plenty of open jumpers and in general, made great decisions with the basketball when he had the rock in his hands. In fact, his eight total assists was the highest total out of everyone in the event.
