Corvian Community took home the NCHSAA 1A State Championship, their first in school history, in a thrilling 58-55 overtime victory. Extra time was needed as things couldn't be decided in regulation, a testament to the style of play of both squads.

RJ Moore RJ Moore 6'6" | CG Ambassador Christian | 2027 State #68 Nation NC took home Most Valuable Player for the Cardinals after knocking down a 3-pointer at the buzzer, one of his five made 3-pointers down the stretch, to seal things. The Cardinals trailed by as many as 10 points in the second half but Moore took over down the stretch as did Malachi McCutcheon Malachi McCutcheon 6'6" | PF Corvian Community | 2025 State NC . Moore finished with 26 points and nine rebounds while McCutcheon posted 15 points and six rebounds. They overcame 19 points from sophomore guard Kobe Plata Kobe Plata 5'10" | PG Southern Wake Academy | 2027 State NC and 15 points from Bryan Epperson Bryan Epperson 6'7" | SF Southern Wake Academy | 2025 State NC to secure the victory for Corvian Community.
