McCutcheon moves into the 79th spot in the final rankings update for the 2025 class out of Corvian Community in the 704 area. The 6-foot-6 forward finished his senior year securing a state championship and the West Region MVP award with 15 points, six rebounds and a block in their 58-55 overtime victory. He’s a sizeable prospect who can finish around the rim and knock down shots in the mid-range and perimeter area with consistency. He’s got a bright future ahead of him at Catawba College as he continues to develop.

Returning to the championship after a loss to Wilson Prep last season the 6’5 wing had a good showing against the athletic frontcourt of Queens Grant. He finished with an impressive 19 points, 4 assists, and a team leading 10 rebounds to help get the impressive win. Malachi has a unique build that fits the mold of a wing but has the versatility to do just about anything asked on the basketball court. If Corvian wants revenge for last year’s loss he will need another solid performance.
