Class 5 Semifinals Wednesday Standouts

Summit Christian defeated Parkview 69-60 in the nightcap. The young phenom was scoring at all three levels, but he was at his best when he was attacking the basket with strength and verocity. He can contort his body at multiple angles in the lane, but his shoulders are always square when he's ready to shoot. His speed and ability to change directions on the fly made him difficult to stop. He was hitting defenders with a hesi move at full speed and dropping them off on the way to the basket. He scored a game high 23 points, which included making five of six from 3-point range. He was oozing with confidence and poise as he handled pressure defense and also got to his spots to score. He was consistently knocking down big shots in the fourth quarter to keep Parkview at bay. He finished the game with 15 points along with game highs of 16 rebounds and five blocks. He did a great job of rotating over from the weak side to get swats. He uses his length and good timing. He is also an excellent passer. He hit a 3-pointer to open the scoring and that seemed to give him some confidence. As the game wore on, he was getting out in the open court and staying on the attack.
