Thomas, a teammate of Pickren with KC Run GMC , is another prospect who leaves you wondering what more he needs to do to earn an opportunity from college programs. Mike’s strong play throughout the spring and into the summer with Summit Christian has been well documented, and he continues to show why he deserves to be firmly on the recruiting radar.
A legitimate 6-foot-6 wing who can also slide into a dynamic forward role, Thomas offers the kind of positional versatility that coaches covet. He is an interchangeable and skilled two-way player who can impact the game in a variety of ways on both ends of the floor. Offensively, he can finish through contact with power or use touch and finesse around the basket, depending on what the situation calls for.
Perhaps most importantly, his perimeter shooting has become a consistent weapon. Defenders are now forced to respect him beyond the arc, allowing him to play effectively in space and stretch the floor. When combined with his size, mobility, and feel, that shooting ability makes him a difficult matchup and a valuable piece capable of fitting into different systems and playing styles.

The spring has been good to Thomas so far, as he’s trending in a positive direction while benefiting from playing alongside a high-level supporting cast. Mike is a crafty, left-handed wing whose development on the perimeter has steadily improved over the past year. He’s really come into his own as a shooter, showing both accuracy and consistency from beyond the arc in Kansas City at UAA Session I. He’s also shown a good feel for finding space — whether drifting or lifting into different areas on the floor — and reads defensive rotations well. In the midrange or with his back to the basket, he can fade and lean to create separation, almost always getting to his shot. Defensively, he recovers and rotates well, often using his length to disrupt passing lanes and contest or block shots. Another weekend at UAA Session II in Ohio should bring continued success, especially on the offensive end for Mike.

Thomas’ physical frame served him well this weekend, as one of the better put-together overall prospects, allowing him to find success using his size and strength. He flashed shot-blocking ability and rebounding instincts, while also using his strength effectively on the defensive end across different matchups. Offensively, his perimeter game was his biggest asset, as he knocked down multiple long-range triples — some coming in crunch time. He also looked comfortable creating in the midrange or attacking off the wing. He continues to show a dynamic ability to play multiple positions and fill different roles on both ends of the floor.

Monday night saw Summit Christian take down Heritage Christian, with Thomas leading the charge. He put together a strong 26-point, 10-rebound performance and really controlled the game on both ends of the floor.
His outside shooting set the tone early. After knocking down a few shots from deep, the defense had to respect him, and that’s when everything started to open up. With the floor spaced, he attacked off the bounce, getting downhill and finishing aggressively at the rim. Whether it was rising up for a dunk or coming to two feet, absorbing contact, and powering through, he consistently found ways to convert.
Defensively, he protected the rim with timely shot blocks and disrupted passing lanes, creating live-ball turnovers. Those steals turned into open-floor opportunities where he could get out, play with pace, and put even more pressure on the defense. It was a complete performance that showed how much he can influence the game in every phase.

Mike is the ultimate glue guy, the kind of player every team needs to thrive. His unselfishness, versatility, and work ethic make him the heartbeat of any lineup. Mike excels at doing the little things that don’t always show up in the box score—setting screens, diving for loose balls, and providing relentless energy on both ends of the floor. He’s a connector, fostering chemistry by encouraging his teammates and leading by example. Whether it’s making the extra pass, stepping up defensively, or keeping the team motivated during tough stretches, Mike’s contributions are invaluable. His presence not only stabilizes the team but also elevates everyone around him.
