Keenan Freshman [player_tooltip player_id='2642300' first='Malik' last='Brunson'] showed he wasn't shy of the moment with 6 points on 3-3 FG in the early stages of the game. [player_tooltip player_id='2299729' first='Von' last='Burton'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1997737' first='Colton' last='Kreger'] weren't scared of the game's physical nature either as they attacked the paint in the opening quarter. Powdersville came into the game shooting over 30% from three as a team and making over 5 1/2 threes per game, but they struggled from the perimeter for the entirety of the game, including an 0-8 showing in the first 24 minutes. However, they trailed by only five going into the locker room because the Raiders turned the ball over 16 times resulting in 14 points. [player_tooltip player_id='1276361' first='Brian' last='Sumpter'] used his size and skill to impact the game on both ends of the floor, but [player_tooltip player_id='2299729' first='Von' last='Burton'] continued to show he was unafraid of contact near the goal. [player_tooltip player_id='2433116' first='Antoine' last='Caughman Jr'] scored 12 of his 17 points in the second half including a pair of field goals on a 7-0 start. Although Burton did his best to keep the Patriots close, Caughman Jr had the first made three of the game at the 1:50 mark of the third quarter, followed by [player_tooltip player_id='1766181' first='Jaleel' last='McGee'] with the only two makes of the game. That McGee score ignited a Powdersville run which got the Keenan lead to just two, but [player_tooltip player_id='2691103' first='Ny'keim' last='McNeil'] ended a 3:56 scoring drought with back-to-back buckets in the paint. McNeil's quickness, determination, and ball-handle were all key down the stretch. Although the Raiders missed six free throws in the last 2:00, they continued to make Powdersville play the game inside the perimeter and work harder for their baskets. Keenan would go on to seal it, winning their 10th State Championship and first since 2020.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
