[player_tooltip player_id='2347788' first='Merrick' last='Rillstone'] is one of the most underrated players in the state for me. Merrick is fantastic on both ends, and when he's at his best, he is highly impactful. Merrick is an extremely fluid driver, and at his size, he is usually matched up with bigs that have trouble dealing with his ability to put the ball on the floor. Merrick does a great job contesting shots at the rim, and I've seen him meet people at the rim on multiple occasions. Merrick had a handful of great drives against Hayfield, and he, like the rest of this South Lakes team, was fantastic on defense.

There was a point in the third quarter when South Lakes was struggling to score, and Hayfield cut a halftime lead of 10 to 3. Jordan did a good job attacking the rim, and his getting to the line helped South Lakes get a grip back on the game. This game was physical and low-scoring, so even though Jordan's 19 points were not anything special of his standard, he showed up in big spots. Jordan made a few nice passes off of his drives, and he was excellent on defense with a few blocks.

Toshi Elston has quickly become a player I have enjoyed watching for South Lakes. Toshi plays way bigger than his size, and he gets after it on the offensive glass. He posts up players well, and he always goes up strong. When Hayfield cut into South Lakes lead, Toshi had a handful of tough takes that were very timely.

[player_tooltip player_id='2916372' first='Damien' last='Robinson'] is one of the best guards in the state, and he is only a freshman. Damien is an outstanding scorer with a great feel for the game. Damien isn't a bad athlete by any means but also doesn't flash it as a scorer. He is so skilled and smart he gets to where he needs to get too. He is a great shooter and is a crafty finisher. Damien plays extremely hard and is a gritty player on both ends. He had an efficient 22 points and 5 assists.

The first thing that pops out at you when you watch [player_tooltip player_id='1963394' first='Zaevion' last='Cleveland'] is his athleticism. Zaevion plays bigger than his size, and he makes his mark on defense and on the glass. Zaevion is not much of a shooter, but he is a great finisher and a difficult guy to stop when he attacks the basket. Zaevion had his way against Patriot and was a perfect 8/8 from the field. He finished with 23 points.
