The district tournament is coming up and regionals are right around the corner. In two weeks time, half of the teams in Kentucky will no longer be playing basketball. With that said, Postseason KHSAA Basketball is a special time of year. Here's a look at some players who can be a true X factor in their Freshman postseasons.

A big wing with the potential to be a big time player in the near future, Poynter is only 13 years old and has a high prospect ceiling. Chi has good genetics with a 6'8 dad but he also plays hard and with a good motor that is something not every freshman has figured out. Poynter is a name to monitor in a loaded 2028 class in the 5th region.

Green County's Seniors and Juniors get the headlines but it's actually the freshman point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2522912' first='Cooper' last='Stone'] who has been one of their most consistent players this season. Averaging 10 points per game, Cooper has shown himself to be a solid point guard prospect who thrives with the ball in his hands.

Morguson has carved out a role at GRC thanks to his ability to knock down threes. Conner barely played early in the season but has worked up to the 7th man on a loaded roster thanks to his ability to make open threes. It's possible that Conner is a starter for the Cardinals next season but he could be a difference maker in the 10th region tournament this year.

East Jessamine actually has 9 Seniors on the roster but it's their freshmen who give them a bright future. Wolfe has averaged 5 points per game this season and could be one of the biggest movers heading into next year as he has shown he has the tools to be a double figure scorer and could be a top 10 Sophomore (or better) in the 12th region next season.
