We are just within a week from arguably the best week of the Indiana High School Boys Basketball season with Sectional take place across the state. This week, both Brandon Ramsey and myself will give my in-depth previews of each Sectional however, I want to take a look at five players from each class that you need watch for to have strong showings. Here are five players from Class 4A to Watch.

You could make a strong case that the top unsigned senior in the 2025 class is Anderson wing [player_tooltip player_id='1297010' first='Damien' last='King']. Like it was expected, King has had a stellar final year at the high school level leading the Indians with 22.0 ppg and 7.8 rebounds as well. On the floor, there is not a whole lot that King can't do being that he is an elite shot maker and competes on the defensive end. Watch him first when he faces either Sectional 9 opponents Mt. Vernon (Fortville) and Richmond.

We have always touted that [player_tooltip player_id='1578453' first='Patric' last='Matson'] is arguably the best under-the-radar prospect we have in the state and that still holds true today. Matson has had a strong senior season for the Bedford Stars and he will look to continue that momentum heading into the tough Sectional 15. Matson has always been one of the more naturally athletic players around the rim and this season, he showed an ability to stretch the floor a bit more and knockdown some outside shots. The Stars will have a tough challenge when they face with Scottsburg or Jeffersonville.

[player_tooltip player_id='1988138' first='Drew' last='Haffner'] is a name to get to know in the in-state 2026 class because this guy has took a big jump this year. He is the leading scorer for the shamrocks with 12.7 ppg which has paralleled them to becoming a legit contender in the always loaded Sectional 8. He is a true knock down shooter and has shown he can make plays around the rim as well. If he pops off in a game, Westfield can beat anybody. Haffner and Westfield have undefeated Fishers first.

Many thought that Kokomo would take a giant step back this season and that has not been the case at all, thanks to players like 2026 guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561440' first='Korbyn' last='Hammel']. All season for the Wildkats, Hammel has been one of the more productive players with his 14.4 ppg, 4.4 rpg, and 4.1 apg. As a player, Hammel is a dynamic playmaker with good positional size, length, and a very high motor. Kokomo will start Sectional 7 play with McCutcheon.

With as good as Evansville Reitz has been this season, it hard not to put their top player and top overall player in the in-state 2027 class on this watchlist. [player_tooltip player_id='2195051' first='Jaylan' last='Mitchell'] has been good as advertised this season with his outstanding 16.4 ppg, 11.9 rpg, and 5.6 apg on the year. Mitchell is one of the more versatile players you find in the country at this level being able to score in all levels while being impressive in doing so. Evansville Reitz is a dark horse to make it Class 4A State and it starts with Castle.
