Prep Hoops Indiana Sectional Preview – Class 1A South

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>We are just a week away from the beginning of the 115th Annual IHSAA Boys Basketball State Tournament. On Sunday evening we received brackets for the Sectional round as 403 teams learned how their path to Gainbridge Fieldhouse would begin. We will spend the week here at Prep Hoops Indiana going in-depth across the state touching on all 64 Sectionals. Rock Creek Academy lost to South Central (Elizabeth) 68-61. South Central (Elizabeth) lost to Christian Academy 73-49. All three of those teams who have beaten each other have at least 13 wins while a fourth, Borden, have 14 wins. That is the balance and depth that Sectional 63 at West Washington features. Christian Academy is ranked #7 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 1A Top 10 and features Marian signee [player_tooltip player_id='1297066' first='Joshua' last='Renfro']. They are likely the favorites on paper, but they will be battle-tested by the time the cut down the nets for a second straight season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Under-the-Radar Sectional</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Sectional 58 at Indianapolis Lutheran could go in a lot of different direction. Indianapolis Metropolitan enters at 17-7 and ranked #9 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class 1A Top 10. Meanwhile, Providence Cristo Rey is also 17-7. There appears to be a big game between those two programs though as Indy Met beat Providence Cristo Rey 83-21 earlier in the season. Then, there is Greenwood Christian who is just 9-12 overall but beat Indianapolis Metropolitan 56-41. Finally, you have Indianapolis Lutheran who is 6-14 overall, but 3-0 against Class 1A competition including a 44-31 win over Greenwood Christian.
