NMH traveled to KUA for a hard-fought battle on Wednesday, February 26th. KUA pulled out a close one, 79-70, behind a balanced attack from a bunch of different guys.

Williams is so fun to watch out on the basketball court. I haven't seen KUA play in person, but his athleticism jumps off the screen in a way that it does for few other players. He's ridiculously quick and has an amazing handle, and he gets crazy elevation on his three-point shot, which allows him to rise and fire over anyone. His passing also popped in the NMH game, where he really saw cuts before they happened. The finishing might be most impressive though; he has a great left hand and SO many different ways of converting in the paint. The unsigned senior definitely feels like a scholarship player to me.

Smith is an intriguing longer term prospect as a result of his size and the way he thinks the game. The 6-foot-9 junior is big and long and does a really good job positioning himself defensively for blocks and contests. Offensively, I was incredibly impressed with his passing vision and hands. He caught multiple difficult passes and made quick and high IQ kick outs to shooters. He also fights hard on the glass and can finish solidly around the rim. I'll be looking for him to develop some more post moves in the coming years to improve his D1 stock.

Williams made an impact by doing the little things for KUA in their game against NMH. The 6-foot-6 senior plays really good defense and attacks both the offensive and defensive glasses with aggression and toughness. He can finish in the paint and is able to put the ball on the floor and create a bit for himself and his teammates. He hasn't developed much of an outside game yet, but I could envision his shot coming along with how his free throws look. Either way, his coaches at Bates will love his defensive versatility, toughness and passion next year.

Rodriguez is a big-body wing who looks like he has the physical tools to play college hoops right now. The 6-foot-6 senior is a good outside shooter but also handles the ball well off the bounce, especially for his size. Most impressive was his passing, though; he sees the floor incredibly well and uses his height to make passes over the defense. He has pretty excellent vision for his archetype of player – a big, scoring wing. Rodriguez should step right into potential playing time next year for Fairfield.

Hunter-Coleman is a really exciting combo guard. Yes, he's only about 6-foot, but he jumps out of the gym and is quick as a cat. He had multiple end-to-end rebounds and then fastbreak layups where he showcased his whole athletic profile. He's also a very talented finisher and can make tough shots high off the glass. He didn't take too many outside shots, so it's tough to say what that part of his game is like, but I'm sure it's at least workable given his touch. Hunter-Coleman has a Gardner Webb offer and could certainly get more moving forward – he's only a junior.
