<p>On Thursday, February 6th the Metro Classic returned to the state of New Jersey for another year at Franklin High School in Franklin, NJ. The first day consisted of matchups that not only featured some of New Jersey's best public school programs this season but also some of New Jersey's best private school programs as of the last couple years. In the first part of this article, let's take a look at some of the guys that stood out over the course of Thursday's first slate of games.</p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Josh Lima finished the game with 15 points for Piscataway in their victory over Franklin. Lima got going finishing plays at the rim in transition and knocking down open catch and shoot threes. Lima helped provide steady offense for the Chiefs. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Providing a real spark for Piscataway's offense, Nate Davis was lights out from three point range, knocking down 5 threes from the perimeter. Davis also did a good job of finishing plays in transition. Davis finished the game with 22 points. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Handling most of the ball handling responsibilities for Union Catholic's offense, [player_tooltip player_id='1411630' first='AJ' last='Altobelli'] did a good job of getting into the paint— showcasing his different finishes consisting of floaters and finishing through contact at the rim. Altobelli's ability to get in the paint also allowed him to get his teammates involved, kicking out to open shooters. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2504886' first='Malik' last='Moore'] did a good of playing within Union Catholic's offense. Moore was effective knocking down open shots off the ball and attacking closeouts— showcasing his ability to hit floaters and finish at the rim. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">[player_tooltip player_id='2342647' first='Rashawn' last='Williams'] was extremely active on the defensive end of the basketball. Williams showcased his ability to disruptive on the ball as well as be an effective help side defender. Williams was also effective in transition, finishing plays in transition at the rim. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Playing within himself, Devin Thomas provided shotmaking and finishing for Plainfield's offense. Being effective off the ball, Thomas was able to knock down open shots from the perimeter as well as finish at the rim. Thomas finished the game with 18 points and 6 rebounds. </p>

<p class="text-gray-700">Providing a strong interior presence for Plainfield, Na'jai Hines showcased his ability to finish powerfully around the rim as well as a little bit of the touch he has around the basket, finishing the game with 10 points. Hines used his size and strength to rebound the basketball, finishing the game with 15 rebounds. Hines also had 3 blocks. </p>
