With league and county playoffs in the rearview and states quickly approaching, attention briefly turns to district championships and state-playoff seeding games taking place this week. Led by a pair of freshmen and coming off a winless season in league play, Lansdale Catholic got back in the win column prior to states with a commanding win over Overbrook to secure District 12's third seed within the state bracket. 'Brook will have a chance to regroup before entering states as D12's fourth seed.

By far the most productive lead guard among PCL freshmen, Aylmer had it all clicking from the opening tip. He came out looking to distribute, consistently generating advantages and setting up teammates for easy looks. Aylmer would go on to show his polished downhill scoring package and reliable shooting ability en route to a 16-point, 10-assist effort with nearly flawless decisionmaking. He also stood out using his length and quickness to be a factor on D. With his maturity and balanced skillset, Aylmer could start to generate some buzz on the 15U 3SSB circuit this spring and summer.

LC's leading scorer on the year as a 14-year-old, Stevens was a bit quiet in the scoring department but showed an IQ and a balanced skillset that should make for a really interesting prospect before all's said and done. A bigger-bodied wing forward still very early in his physical maturation, he spent a lot of time initiating offense from the point, showing impressive skill to his handle with advanced feel and court vision. He was able to use his size, skill, and footwork to meander to the rim and finish through contact, while also being a threat to knock down shots off the catch. Stevens stood out especially for his maturely vocal and unselfish approach at his age. We're excited to see how things shake out for Stevens as he develops.

With Overbrook facing a big early deficit, Holmes came off the bench and stopped the bleeding, going on to a 13-point effort. He came in aggressive and never let off the gas, showing an impressive blend of polish and physicality while routinely working his way to the front of the rim. Holmes can play bully-ball with his chiseled frame but shows real pace and nuance to his handle and footwork, while also being a willing passer. With his physical tools and ability to generate rim pressure, Holmes could work his way onto the scholarship radar late in the cycle or with a prep year, particularly if he shows more of a dangerous perimeter stroke.

The lone senior contributor for a young Lansdale Catholic group, Romero brings a steadiness and versatility befitting of his veteran status. He's consistently in the right place on both ends, scoring efficiently by using his size to sneak inside for finishes or spacing the floor off the catch from 3. Romero will also flash some skill and feel attacking slower defenders off the bounce, along with the toughness to put up a fight against bigger players defensively. He'll never be the flashiest player but could be a nice program piece for the right small-college coach.

Blackwell came off the bench and made an immediate splash, earning his way into the opening five for the second half with his steady and energetic backcourt play.
Thin and lanky with an athletic build, he stands out with a really smooth stroke and a pretty ball off the catch or pull. He uses his length and quick feet to be an active bother to opposing guards on defense. Playing both on and off the ball, Blackwell showed a consistent sense for where to be that belied his age. We'll be monitoring him moving forward to see how his body and on-ball game develop.
