The state champion has been the biggest addition to this team especially in major games this season. Amari may have been the smallest player on the court but when the Broncos needed a big bucket he delivered each time. During the game he had some trouble scoring at first as the Dolphins tried to speed Kenwood up several times. During the 4th quarter Young made a run and needed a big bucket as their double-digit lead dwindled to 3 points. Edwards as he's done in multiple games ran off 6 to 8 points hitting two threes in the process going bucket for bucket with Whitney Young's star Clark. Amari led Kenwood with 16 points and another shot at the city championship on Saturday.

The senior could be in the running for a most improved player if there was such an award in high school basketball for his play the second half of the season. He's been living up to the early hype as of late. Aleks had things going early making shots from three while being heavily defended. His shooting has never been the issue but more about his consistency and how assertive he was on the court. Well none of those issues were the problem as Alston did just about everything from dunks to hitting the glass and creating for others off double teams. As a mobile big man he swatted several shots out of bounds. He finished with an amazing stats line of 13 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds, and 4 blocks

Seals had just another strong supporting performance with 12 points and 5 boards. He is very active around the rim the majority of the time. Last night he struggled to make shots on the perimeter.

The microwave scoring threat had a bit of a slow start scoring, but was able to go full throttle in the fourth as he put pressure on Kenwood guards by relentlessly attacking the basket. As his team was down double digits Clark put up points quickly with three-level shooting and smooth handling off high ball screens and in iso coverage. Marquis went on several mini-runs but was never able to get his team over the hump. Clark led all scorers with 27 points in the final 4 loss.

Munoz was the lone senior on this team that's been in many heated and competitive CPS tournaments. The Dolphins needed his energy and momentum-breaking plays. Antonio had a statement play early with a reverse alley-oop dunk that had the whole arena buzzing. The rest of the way he relied on playing hard getting to loose balls and hitting the glass to keep possessions alive for Whitney Young. Munoz's energy and effort helped shrink Kenwood's lead a few times because he's a versatile defender who can cover all positions on the court and he's uber athletic so he can change their shot any time he's near the ball. Antonio ended the game and his CPS career with 12 points, 9 boards, and 3 steals.
