On February 21st I watched the 5A play-in game with #12 Horizon hosting #21 North.

North started slowly with a Horizon 12-3 lead but quickly that lead evaporated and North took a 15-13 lead at the end of the 1st quarter. North turned Horizon over in the 2nd quarter and built that lead up to a 35-22 going into the break. [player_tooltip player_id='2279901' first='Miles' last='Swift'] was as close to dominant as he could be.

The 3rd quarter started and the home team Huskies started hitting shots and actually turned North over for some easy points. North only led 45-41 heading into the 4th and Horizon kept the momentum up with [player_tooltip player_id='1950116' first='Ethan' last='Hayes'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2784848' first='Parker' last='Burke'] playing well in the half to give Horizon a 55-51 win.

Here were the standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='1950116' first='Ethan' last='Hayes'] Horizon (Pictured)

A bigger guard/wing seems to keep growing. He can score with the floater game, offensive rebound put backs, mid-range pull-ups, catch threes and he takes long strides to the basket with his size and length. He scored 15+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2784848' first='Parker' last='Burke'] Horizon

A newcomer for me is a fluid power forward with some size and skill. He moves well from end to end and will score it with hook shots in the post with a decent handle to crab dribble and create his own offense. He will score with put backs and sees the court well to make a play out of a double team. He scored 10+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2784875' first='Brennan' last='Korn'] Horizon

A scoring guard plays a little on or off the ball. He will score with crafty takes to the basket with a quick burst a nice handle and he will ball fake and rise up to shoot it. The senior guard scored close to 10 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2414049' first='Ryan' last='Milner'] Horizon

The junior point guard can score it and facilitate. He has advanced court vision to see plays developing quickly to get the assist. He will score with tough shots in the lane and he smartly cuts, He scored 5+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2784885' first='Owen' last='Brackmann'] Horizon

An athletic power forward with good size. He is a menace on defense to rebound and he will block shots in his area. He will throw it down in the lane and dunk it and cuts off the ball for some easy points. He scored 4+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2784892' first='Kaeden' last='Everett'] North

A newcomer for me is a bigger fluid wing forward who is a really quick leaper and very graceful. He has good hands and will score on offensive rebound put backs plus euro steps. He is also a sneaky good passer and can defend multiple positions. He scored 10+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2279898' first='Varney' last='Kamara'] North

A good sized guard who plays a lot of their lead role for the Mustangs. He will drive and kick it and thread the needle a couple times. He knows how to change speeds plus will blow by his defenders with very long strides. He also collects steals in bunches which will lead to scores on the other end.

[player_tooltip player_id='2784865' first='Jordan' last='Antunez'] North

A scoring combo guard who played some of the lead role plus off the ball. He is a natural slasher who will drive the lane with a sneaky quick burst to the basket and score thru some contact with a little toughness. He is feisty on the ball defensively. He scored 8+ points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2279901' first='Miles' last='Swift'] North

A long high flying power forward was a problem all night long. He did a lot of his damage in the first half with literal poster dunks, offensive rebound put backs out of his area rebounds and blocks that he sent away to the front row. He will score thru the contact or have to earn it on the FT line. He scored 15+ points with probably 10+ rebounds and multiple blocks.
