Now begins the time when we look to add new basketball players to our ranking coffers. It's no easy task. Freshman players can be hard to gauge as their developmental phases differ greatly. On one hand, you have a 6'7" kid who can dunk and score with ease, and on the other, you have a 5'5" kid (playing amongst trees) who has yet to hit his spurt. Therefore, our job is to add all of the talent we see to the watch list, and as they progress through high school, move them accordingly throughout the rankings. We're going to drop some 2028 content and some new names throughout Northern Lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula. We're also going to bump some recognized kids onto the ranking chart. These will be in no particular order, but I will break them down by region--Northern Lower Michigan, Eastern UP, and Western UP.

There won't be a lot of content for each one of these boys, as some of them still need eyes on them. I will put a (V) after their name if they are playing on the varsity squad at their respective school.

[player_tooltip player_id='2539732' first='Hudson' last='Mclean'] - Traverse City Central (V)

We put Hudson on the Watch List a while back. We've watched a lot of his game and soon he will be elevated to the actual rankings. Probably one of the best 2028's in Northern Michigan. Popped in 19 on a huge 3OT thriller against Petoskey last week.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759317' first='Braden' last='Fralick'] - Petoskey (V)

Braden easily makes our top 5 in Northern Michigan. Also been on our Watch List for a while, and will be vaulting up the rankings soon. Making solid contributions on the Northmen varsity squad and as he develops, will definitely be next-level talent.

[player_tooltip player_id='2517162' first='Max' last='Lamerson'] - Glen Lake (V)

Max will be making his way on the rankings very soon as well. He has a small injury setback he is working through, but I would put my reputation on the line betting he will come back bigger and better than before. Keep eyes on this Glen Lake team for the next couple of years, a deep tournament run and a visit to the Breslin is surely in the cards for them.

[player_tooltip player_id='2759321' first='Zander' last='Robinson'] - Inland Lakes (V)

Small forward making huge waves for Inland Lakes. Coming off of a strong campaign last season with HB Elite and one of Trevor Huffman and Wills Lee's basketball prodigies. He is also on a bit of an injury setback, but he is on a great comeback trajectory. Inland Lakes will be a solid team for a few years to come and worth keeping an eye on.

[player_tooltip player_id='2758267' first='Dominic' last='Wing'] - Cadillac

Developing his game nicely, 6'7" beast who has helped Cadillac roll out to an 11-4 record and an outright lead in the Big North at 6-1. What a dream frontcourt for Coach Benzenberg to have these bigs at his disposal, in Wing and 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1787594' first='Kyle' last='McGowan']. McGowan is surely a nice mentor to Wing.

These five listed above should easily be added to many college coaches' watch lists throughout the Midwest. Too early to gauge the college level, but on the watch list for sure. I would feel comfortable recommending any of these boys for an official visit down the road.
