WALLY KELLER CLASSIC Standouts, Second Five

Charlotte once again hosted one of the top tournaments in the State, and the 19th Annual Wally Keller Classic did not disappoint. This past weekend some of the top teams throughout Florida got together and played some outstanding and exciting basketball, and also displayed some great talent from across the entire state. Let's take a closer look at some of those prospects who really stood out and took advantage of this stage.    The 6'5" junior guard helped lead his squad to an impressive victory over a talented Blake program. Bass Jr., who has that NBA pedigree, is an excellent ball handler and is very efficient at creating his own shot, whether attacking the basket or creating space to get off his jumper. He shoots both the mid-range game and from behind the arc at a very high rate. Bass Jr. is a high-level talent who has the ability affect the game in a number of ways, both offensively and defensively. His high level of play and knowledge of the game put him up there as one of the top players in the state.     Lewis is another major prospect who put his skillset on display during the tournament. The 6'7" Iowa commit can score on all 3-levels and has a real gift for filling the stat sheet and putting numbers on the board. He has tremendous size, strength, and athleticism and plays the game hard, never taking a play off. He has the ability to guard any position on the floor and is an excellent rebounder on the both ends of the court. Lewis likes to attack the basket and finish above the rim with some highlight reel dunks.     The highly rated sophomore scored a game-high 21 points in the win over Westminster Academy. Delaney has great size and strength from the guard position and plays the game well beyond his years. He is a very mature and smart player who likes to control the game and facilitate the offense. He shoots it very well from the outside but can also beat you off the dribble and finish at the rim with contact. He is a tough, gritty kid on the defensive side of the ball who won't back down from any assignment.     Gaines really impressed me against Gibbs, where he played some great defense and was able to get buckets throughout the entire contest. He has elite handles and great court vision, making him an impressive PG at a young age. He plays the game with a lot of poise, and likes to play the game fast but does it under control and with a purpose. He can score on all 3-levels but has a great shot from the outside, especially from behind the arc. Gaines has a ton of potential and will continue to see his stock rise throughout this year and his high school career.     Sandi is an extremely smart PG who likes to play with the ball in his hands and facilitate the offense. He has a quick first step where he can beat you off the dribble and get to the hoop, but also has the ability to find the open man and get his team the best shot possible. He is a strong, tough guard who rebounds the ball very well and likes to push it up the floor and get out and run. He is very active on the defensive end and has a real knack for turning defense into offense. Sandi looks to help lead his St. Thomas Aquinas squad deep into postseason play here in 2025.
