About O’Neal
Expert Analysis
Zy Adams | Prep Hoops Scout
Delancy has solidified himself as one of the top shooters in the nation for the class of 2027. He’s got the ultimate green light and backs it up with production, often getting up double-digit attempts from deep and knocking them down at an elite clip. But his game doesn’t stop at the arc. Delancy is a complete three-level scorer with a smooth midrange pull-up and crafty touch around the rim. His poise and pace make him nearly unguardable, and his shot selection is as polished as his form.

The highly rated sophomore scored a game-high 21 points in the win over Westminster Academy. Delaney has great size and strength from the guard position and plays the game well beyond his years. He is a very mature and smart player who likes to control the game and facilitate the offense. He shoots it very well from the outside but can also beat you off the dribble and finish at the rim with contact. He is a tough, gritty kid on the defensive side of the ball who won’t back down from any assignment.

This kid has been circled on my breakout list since he put on a show at the Prep Hoops Freshman event before the season. Delancy is a rising 2027 combo guard that is a pure scorer with the rock in his hands who can pull from deep three range and catch defenders off guard with the sneaky handles and speed to get to his spots. He helped the Gladiators improve to 5-1 with a 93-65 victory over Boca Ciega. Delancy scored 27 points while adding 4 steals on the defensive side.
