There is no state that does High School Basketball like Indiana. We do our best to cover everything from border to border making sure we highlight the best players in the state while also providing unparalleled coverage of the lesser known, under-the-radar prospects. Where we really set ourselves apart though is in identifying prospects early in their careers. With the growth and success of the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase we are able to quickly build a database of hundreds of the best freshmen in the state and follow them throughout their respective high school journeys. Today we are going to dive a bit deeper into the Class of 2028 and highlight six young prospects that are making waves at the varsity level.

One of the top freshman scorers in the state of Indiana, this 5'11" guard is putting up 14.0 points per game at Crawford County High School. In 13 games, Bowman has shot 18-51 (35.3%) from three-point range. His overall shot-making ability really stands out right now as he continues to physically develop and get stronger. Bowman's best basketball is still well ahead of him.

Davison calmly stepped into an extremely high-level game on Wednesday night and buried two big three-point shots. The second of his two triples came in the corner to extend New Palestine's lead to seven points early in the fourth quarter as the Dragons pulled away to defeat Lawrence North. The 6'3" guard's catch-and-shoot ability has gotten him on the court right away for one of the best Class 3A programs in the state.

In the absence of his older brother who suffered a knee injury in football season, [player_tooltip player_id='2617854' first='Jace' last='Hollendonner'] has immediately stepped in as a freshman as one of the best players at Centerville High School. The talented, athletic, 6'1" guard is averaging 10.3 points per game and shooting 23-62 (37.1%) from three-point range.

I'm not sure that people around the state realize that there is a pretty historic freshman season taking place over at North Vermillion High School. Leonard, a 5'11" guard, is averaging 23.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 steals per game while shooting an incredible 44-87 (50.6%) from three-point range. Most impressively, he has led the Falcons to a 12-4 record. They have not lost to a fellow Class 1A team yet this season.

Also one of the top football prospects in Indiana's Class of 2028, Moore has stepped in right away as the leading scorer for Beech Grove's basketball team. The skilled 6'5" forward is averaging 10.9 points and 5.4 rebounds per game. It will be fun to continue to watch his development on the gridiron and hardwood over the next few years.

Tri-West has a talented young team and this 5'9" dynamic point guard leads the way in the Bruins' freshman class. Thomas is averaging 8.1 points at the varsity level this season while showcasing his ability to create his own shot and make plays for others. It will be fun to watch him, along with the rest of Tri-West's young talent, continue to develop over the coign years.
