Leonard was the leading freshman scorer in the state of Indiana last season putting up an incredible 20.5 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.8 steals per game for a North Vermillion High School team that went 16-8. Most impressively, the 5’11” guard shot 60-124 (48.4%) from three-point range. He also shot over 50% from the field overall and was just shy of 90% from the line. Again, it can be difficult to evaluate small school prospects, but that level of efficiency and three-point shooting ability translates beyond the Class 1A level. Leonard is now ranked #37 in the Prep Hoops Indiana Class of 2028 Prospect Rankings.

Leonard was the leading scorer in the state of Indiana last season among freshman. The North Vermillion High School star averaged 20.5 points per game but even more impressively hit 60-124 (48.4%) of his three-point attempts. That shooting ability translates to higher levels of play which we saw on Sunday at the Metro Indy Fall League. It will be fun to watch his progression throughout his high school career.

Events like this can be especially important for small school prospects like Leonard. Coming from Class 1A North Vermillion it can be hard to evaluate just how good he may be because of the level of competition he plays against. Leonard was the leading freshman scorer in the state last season averaging 20.5 points per game and shooting an incredible 60-124 (48.4%) from three-point range. On Sunday at the Sophomore ID Camp he proved that his talent and skill can translate. He was one of the best shooters and pure scorers in the gym.

. A versatile guard who can play both on and off the ball, Leonard scored at a high level from nearly every spot on the floor. He showed a smooth stroke from deep and knocked down a nice fadeaway around the free-throw line. One of the better rebounding guards in the gym, he consistently made the extra-effort plays.

I’m not sure that people around the state realize that there is a pretty historic freshman season taking place over at North Vermillion High School. Leonard, a 5’11” guard, is averaging 23.4 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.4 steals per game while shooting an incredible 44-87 (50.6%) from three-point range. Most impressively, he has led the Falcons to a 12-4 record. They have not lost to a fellow Class 1A team yet this season.
