Amare Blakely Amare Blakely 5'7" | PG Speedway | 2028 IN brought speed, pressure, and energy to Fire Basketball.

Blakely is a quick and explosive point guard who plays with an aggressive mindset. He looked to get to the rim and used change of speed well to get by defenders. That ability to shift gears helped him create separation and put pressure on the defense.

He is a score-first point guard, but his defense also changed the game. Blakely picked up full court, bothered ball handlers, and helped shift the energy with his ball pressure. His ability to be a ball hawk gave Fire Basketball a different level of intensity.

Tri-West had a few standout sophomores at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp on Sunday, and one of them was Amare Blakely Amare Blakely 5'7" | PG Speedway | 2028 IN . At 5’7″, Blakely was one of the more crafty guards I watched, able to create for himself and for others. He will be a player to watch for Tri-West this upcoming season.

One of several freshmen to see consistent varsity action last season at Tri-West, Blakely is a dynamic playmaking point guard that should see his role increase a bit this coming winter. It will be good to see how he has grown both physically and as a player at our upcoming Sophomore ID Camp in early September.

Blakely was one of several prospects from Tri-West High School that attended our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. New head coach Tommy Strine will have some young talent to work with over the next few seasons. Blakely was very quick with the ball in his hands and was able to get to the basket where he was a creative finisher. The 5’7″ point guard wasn’t afraid to go at bigger defenders in the paint.
