One of the top games in the entire boys high school 2024-25 season took place on Friday night between two of the top three teams in Class 4A. The Avon Orioles traveled to face the Fishers Tigers in a battle between two teams that could be cutting down the nets in Indianapolis come March. Avon entered this game with only 1 loss on the year while Fishers entered as one of the few unbeaten teams left in the state. In the end, it was Fishers that remained undefeated with the 69-45 victory over Avon. With that, below are some top players that stood out in this big time showdown.

There was no better player on the floor Friday night in this game than the sophomore point guard. Zachary had the game controlled from the opening tip to the final buzzer by being the elite play maker he is on the ball. Finishing with a game-high 16 points, Zachary scored both on and off the ball by knocking down a few threes and also creating in the lane. Zachary is a game changer.

If you want to talk about a player that set the tone of the game, you look right at Miami (OH) signee [player_tooltip player_id='1297069' first='Justin' last='Kirby']. The 6'4 wing hit the game opening three and was just spectacular on both ends of the floor from start to finish. Over the years, Kirby has become more of a basketball player instead of just athlete on the floor and the way he played vs Avon showed just how much improvement he has made. He finished with 15 points and Miami (OH) is getting one of the top upside prospects in the entire 2025 class.

[player_tooltip player_id='2267046' first='Jason' last='Gardner Jr.'] flew a little bit under-the-radar this game but finished with 14 points nonetheless. It felt like when watching this game when Fishers needed someone to make a play, Gardner was the guy that stepped up. Watching him play, I'm willing to say that he may be the best guard in the lane that is currently in the state. He attacks so well as a guard and his ability to find a way to score against the defense is so impressive. A high major prospect that makes high major plays.

For me, [player_tooltip player_id='1539455' first='DeAndre' last='Lott-Hancock'] was the player of the game for Avon. While the Orioles never really could get themselves fully, Lott-Hancock put the team on his back a lot of times it felt like. Made plays with his strong fame around the rim and hit a couple of tough jumpers. Thought his defense was strong, as well. Strong showing in the Avon loss.
