A top multi-sport athlete in southwest Ohio, Welter hasn't skipped a beat going from football to basketball. A powerful athlete at the rim, Welter was throwing down some crazy dunks off alley-oops on Friday night. A physical force in the paint, Welter has the size, explosiveness and aggression to make highlight-reel plays on both ends. If Welter had a little bit more offensive skill he would be one of the best bigs in the region. It's no surprise looking at the frame and athleticism of Welter that he's a highly sought after football prospect.

A new name, Davis came off the bench and the freshman looked poised and ready to contribute at the varsity level. I was very impressed with Davis defensively as he was talking on defense, moving his feet and using his length to cause steals. I am really intrigued by the physical frame Davis has with a long wingspan and a body that will likely grow and fill out as he matures. I didn't see much in the half-court offensively, adding confidence and making shots from the perimeter should be the next steps in his development. A name you'll be hearing more about in the coming years out of Cincinnati.

It was a tale of two halves for Bennett. After struggling in the first half, Bennett flipped a switch and had an excellent second half to finish with 15 points and 6 rebounds. I thought rebounding was his best trait on Friday as he did a nice job of crashing the glass on both ends. As a driver, Bennett still needs to get stronger to not get pushed off his spots but when he's able to turn the corner, Bennett is tough to stop with his height and length. Also showing shot-making flashes from the outside, Bennett knocked down a pair of 3-pointers. I expect scholarship programs to take a strong look at Bennett during the grassroots season with Ohio Champion.

Andrews Osborne Academy is starting to get healthy and they got a tough victory at home thanks to the play of Daisy and the first half shooting of [player_tooltip player_id='2614839' first='Sean' last='Badea']. Daisy is a wing guard with a strong frame, a quick first step and the ability to knock down shots off the catch. At the end of the game, Daisy made a few clutch plays including free throws to tie the game, a blocked shot and the game sealing rebound.

Without a couple of their bigs, Grand River Academy had a more guard based approach with Nikolevi standing out. An interesting player to watch, Nikolevi started the game with some impressive moves off the bounce. I was also impressed with how Nikolevi used pivots and pump fakes to create space. A high feel for the game as well, Nikolevi was dropping dimes to his teammates. Not sure exactly what position Nikolevi plays or how well he shoots it but he has real talent due to his size, poise and passing ability. Has experience playing for the Georgia national team as well.
