Emerging Talent in Brooklyn and Queens from this past week

Brooklyn and Queens has a long standing tradition as an epicenter for hoop standouts, turning out numerous players who have gone to shine in the pros and college ranks. From the borough's electric street ball courts to its demanding high school programs, the identity of basketball runs deep. Brooklyn and Queens still remains one of the breeding grounds for untapped talent in the city and the nation.    This is the 2nd time I have seen Justin play. College coaches get on this player early. Justin scores the ball easily, evident as he had 52, 35 and 29 in last 3 games. He scores the ball at all 3 levels and he is always in passing lanes to get easy layups. Justin is showing that he is one of the best sophomores in the state. Justin is also a good student and fitting in quite nicely in NYC from Florida.       Abdoul is a very crafty deceptive PG with dribbling skills. He plays at his pace and does not let anyone speed him up. He gets to the basket at will and uses his pace and euro-step to his advantage. He is an average shooter and makes good decisions with the ball. Defensively he competes and guards the ball with high intensity.       Amari is a scorer and it is evident as he is averaging over 26 points a game. He can score at all levels and he is a really good shooter. On his mid-range shot he gets great height making his is shot difficult to block. He uses his length well around the basket and he he is always in the passing lanes.     Shareef is a long athletic forward who uses his size on both ends on the court. He is a shot blocker, shot alterer and a high-volume rebounder on the defensive end. He runs the floor like a deer and plays with great energy. He can finish around the rim through contact and he can finish above the rim. Shareef can also step out to the 3-point line to stretch defenses.       Nicholas is an intriguing prospect in the 2027 class. He is high-energy player with skill. He is what some might call a coach's dream. He plays with great pride all over the court. He rebounds, he scores, he passes the ball and he defends. He is a player you do not have to run plays for but he will fill up the stat sheet. He has good length and it looks as if he is not done growing.     Aaron is a true freshman making a name for himself in the PSAL 4A in Queens. He plays with great poise and maturity like he is a senior. He is a fearless competitor and he competes at a very high level. He makes good decisions with the ball and he gets into the lane at will. He plays with great composure and confidence that most freshmen do not play with. Defensively he is a ball hawk and he guards the opposing team's best player which is unheard of from a freshman.
