With the calendar having turned to 2025 and region play getting into full swing, we now have a solid idea of which prospects and teams are playing well and which ones College Coaches need to check out. This list of prospects features a group of youngsters who have already earned minutes at the Varsity level and are beginning to make a name for themself. Check out these five Freshmen who I consider must-adds to a College Coach's Radar:

Leading off my list of Freshmen to add to your radar is Indian Land's [player_tooltip player_id='2630770' first='Donovin' last='Jones']. Donovin caught my eye early in the season as the Holiday Hoopfeast where he put up 9 Points and 4 Assists in a win over Marion. Jones looked very composed when running the offense and had the feel of a Point Guard with the ball in his hands. He is a lefty who is extremely competitive and does a good job of reading coverages to make the right pass and set up teammates. Jones is averaging 5.2 Points Per Game, 1.7 Assists Per Game, and 1.4 Steals Per Game while playing in every game of the Warriors 16-1 season so far.

[player_tooltip player_id='2630132' first='Kiishawn' last='Farrow'] is a two-sport athlete who has has begun his basketball career as one of the key pieces on a young Hillcrest Rams team. Farrow is very quick and will change pace with the ball in his hands to keep defenders off balance. He is also fearless in attacking the rim despite his size and youth. Kiishawn has been used in both backcourt positions so far this season because of his ability to make plays off the dribble and knock down perimeter shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='2456044' first='Anton' last='Daniels'] is another Point Guard who stood out early in the season. He was the Atlantic Collegiate Academy Starting One when I caught them in Columbia in November and displayed efficient shooting, defensive pressure, craftiness in the lane, and a good handle. As of January 16th, Daniels is averaging 8.4 Points Per Game and 2.5 Assists Per Game and looks to be a top prospect to watch in the Lower State for the future.

Keenan has several Freshmen who are worth checking out but [player_tooltip player_id='2433116' first='Antoine' last='Caughman Jr'] has stood out the most to me. He is a long and rangy wing who has also had some opportunities to run the Raider offense. He can handle the ball well, get to his spots in the mid-range, and use his athleticism to finish at the rim. Caughman Jr is also a dependable defender who excels at forcing turnovers and difficult shots.

The buzz around [player_tooltip player_id='2373165' first='CJ' last='Moore'] has existed since early in the Spring making him a prospect I was eager to monitor during the High School Season. At SCBCA Media Day, Ridge View Head Coach Joshua Staley compared CJ's development to Christian Braun and G.G. Jackson, both of which Staley coached. Moore has contributed on both ends of the floor early in his career, guarding multiple positions, protecting the rim, spotting up for jump shots, and working from the post. Look for CJ to continue to grow into his skin and take over stretches of games as the rest of his Freshman Campaign goes on.
