Rare Footage Holiday Classic: SEPA Prospects to Watch

Below is a preview of prospects from southeastern Pennsylvania who will be watching closely during Monday's (December 30th) Rare Footage Holiday Classic.   All games on Monday will take place at Archbishop Ryan High School.      The first thing that pops about Byrd is his ability to splash jumpers of every variety. Byrd is capable of knocking home mid-range pull ups, step backs, fadeaways, transition threes and spot up triples. With his logo distance range and quick release, opponents must defend Byrd the moment he crosses half-court. But if defenders crowd Byrd too much, he will use his tight handles to attack the painted area. Once Byrd is in the lane, he can unleash floaters or get all the way to the rim. Byrd is a creative finisher who excels at kissing shots off the glass. Recently Byrd posted 18 points on the strength of 4 made threes against City College of Baltimore.     Cole is an athletic and versatile prospect who can run at several positions. His quickness, instincts and solid ball handling skills enable Cole to push the rock in transition for scores or assists. Cole can also fill a lane on the fast break and finish above the rim. In the half-court Cole can splash threes and slash to the hoop for a catch and lay-in. On defense, Cole's height and enormous wingspan allows him to disrupt passing lanes and block shots. Earlier in December Cole recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds against Abington Friends.     Drummond's senior season is off to a fast start as he has already posted games of 22 points (2 threes), 21 points (2 threes) and 20 points (4 threes). When he is not lacing triples, this lefty can also blow past defenders with the dribble and get to the rack for a lay-in. If the help defense manages to cut him off, Drummond can slam on the breaks and pop a mid-range pull up. Plus, Drummond excels in the open court where he can go coast to coast with the rock for a score or fill a lane and then finish through contact.       Moore's fantastic play in the month of December is a major reason Conwell-Egan has jumped out a 6-1 start. He is a fast, smooth, and agile prospect who thrives in the open court. He can finish a fast break through contact or by scoring over opponents. Still, Moore's half-court skills may be the most impressive element of his game. He can shoot threes, score off the dribble and distribute. Moore's ability to use a jump stop and then score or pass off two feet is unique among today's prospects. His mid-range game must be respected too. As a nice bonus, Moore can play off the ball as a slasher wing. Earlier this month Moore recorded a double double of 25 points (3 3PM) and 10 rebounds.
