Now for a quick breakdown of the prospects who came out and made a big statement during their games during Day 1 on Military Rd. These guys showed some game in unexpected ways.

6'7 F [player_tooltip player_id='2675485' first='Darius' last='Seward'] '25 | Cardozo (DC)

Seward was everywhere on the floor making plays for his team. Every rebound was his when the defense failed to box out, and he began taking over the paint in stretches being the most physical player in the gym. Got a lot of baskets by outworking the rest. Lots of free throws and defensive stops as well.

6'1 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2675487' first='Joell' last='Young'] ‘ 25 | Cardozo (DC)
Nice complimentary piece in the backcourt to Cam Young. Joelle is a nice shooter with blazing open court speed, but a tenacious defender. Had 5+ steals, most of them coming from his defense on the ball-handler. Nice overall showing from another Cardozo HS prospect.

6'3 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2459367' first='Shivas' last='Taylor'] '26 | Highland Prep (VA)

Taylor came into the game and immediately banged a triple. Kept that going throughout the entirety of the win vs McNamara. Held his composure nicely once he settled in against a scrappy defense. Ran guard well in his limited minutes and contributed some big baskets in key moments.

6'4 SG [player_tooltip player_id='2347772' first='Jake' last='Bahr'] '26 | Bishop Ireton (VA)

Bahr knocked in some big 3 pointers for Ireton although the team came up short. Was impressed with the way he got his shots off though. Was not limited to being a spot-up shooter, often looking to take a couple dribbles past the closeout and gearing up to shoot or make a quick dish. Made some nice shots off the dribble, kept the defense honest this way.

6'4 G/F [player_tooltip player_id='1588137' first='Donavan' last='Marshburn'] '26 | Glenelg Country

Didn't have his full shooting arsenal up to display today, but he surely showed up in other facets deserving of recognition. Marshburn was one of the game's top rebounders although listed as a guard. Always took on the tough matchups and never backed down. One of the only guards on the team to handle the feisty fullcourt Cardozo press.

6'5 PF [player_tooltip player_id='2353549' first='Jordan' last='Taylor'] '27 | Bishop McNamara

May not have been a top scorer but his impact on the game spoke volumes. He pulled down a lot of rebounds and forced a lot of bad shots by the offense. Tasked with the matchup of nationally ranked senior [player_tooltip player_id='1591317' first='Nate' last='Ament'] , he held his own and defended well despite being at least 4-5 inches shorter. Had some tough finishes in the paint and got momentum going for the team many times in hopes of making a comeback win.

5'11 PG [player_tooltip player_id='2453417' first='Jadah' last='Washington'] '28 | Sidwell Friends (DC)

Washington came into the game behind Acaden and immediately added a spark. He upped the team's pace and provided a type of flair that made the Quakers play with more energy. Washington showed that his smaller-guard frame is no problem, taking the ball to the rack and challenging any defender multiple times. Finished nicely at the rim off 2 feet with control and concentration, but knew when to make the pass to create a better play. Very impressive to see in a short stint.
