MADE Hoops DMV Live: VA/MD Top Performers

Division I college coaches were on the road throughout the country this weekend for the May evaluation period, and many made their way to Baltimore for DMV Live. Several of the area's top travel programs were in attendance as well, giving prospects another opportunity to perform in front of college staffs from every level. Here is a look at some of the standouts from the action at DMV Live.    One of the top guards in the event in Baltimore, Wingfield scored 24 points in a win on Sunday while showcasing his complete offensive skill set. The junior consistently created his own offense and converted multiple strong, tough drives to the rim through contact. He was especially effective in the midrange, where he consistently knocked down pull up jumpers off the dribble. Wingfield also showed solid passing ability and a high basketball IQ, making smart reads and contributing as a secondary ball handler when needed. Combined with his reliable shot making and ability to score at multiple levels, he continues to establish himself as a very intriguing backcourt prospect.     The skilled guard posted 17 points in a game we evaluated this weekend and continued to prove his value as one of the more productive scoring guards in the 2027 recruiting class. Possessing good positional size and a high basketball IQ, he is capable of scoring at all three levels and consistently creates offense within the flow of the game. In addition to his scoring ability, he also shows solid playmaking instincts and the ability to create opportunities for teammates.     The skilled big man from Turkey played some of his best basketball of the spring this weekend and continued to cement himself as a legitimate frontcourt college prospect in the 2027 class. Possessing obvious size and a strong interior presence, he consistently showed a willingness to play through the post and compete physically around the basket. He plays with a high motor, rebounds his area well, and showed good touch around the rim throughout the weekend. His improved mobility was also noticeable, allowing him to impact the game more effectively in transition and defensively. In addition, he flashed solid passing ability from the post, adding another layer to his offensive skill set and overall versatility as a frontcourt prospect.     Whiteman scored 16 points in an overtime win over NOVA 94 Feet while continuing to showcase his value as a perimeter scoring threat. Possessing good positional size, he is a high level shot maker who knocked down four shots from beyond the arc and consistently displayed excellent shot preparation and confidence as a perimeter shooter. Whiteman also showed the ability to attack closeouts effectively, putting the ball on the floor and driving past defenders who overplayed his outside shot. His combination of size, shooting ability, and offensive feel makes him a college prospect in the 2027 class.     Wade is coming off a strong junior season that earned him All-District honors for the Chargers, and he continued that momentum with a 17 point performance in a narrow loss to VA Havoc. He consistently showcased his speed, athleticism, and scoring ability while impacting the game in multiple ways offensively. Wade uses ball screens effectively, plays with good strength, and shows a strong feel for the game along with solid decision making. He is capable of scoring both in the paint and on the block, using his physicality and athleticism to create advantages around the rim. Defensively, Wade was extremely active and competitive, bringing energy and toughness on that end of the floor throughout the game.
