These are the teams that have exceeded my expectations in NOVA.

Heritage
I got a good look at Heritage this past weekend at Lake Braddock's Holiday tournament, and they were extremely impressive. They ended up winning the whole tourney and beat a fantastic Atlee team. Heritage has a young roster, and they battle in the paint. I highlighted Liam Roane in my standouts of the week, and they have a plethora of other contributors as well. [player_tooltip player_id='2548309' first='Masyn' last='Miller'], Jordan Garland, and Alex Cox are all part of an excellent 2027 class. Heritage sits at 8-1 with a couple of nice wins.

Riverside
Riverside was a team that I talked about coming into this season as one to watch. They have fantastic depth and a lot of versatility. [player_tooltip player_id='2382874' first='Mason' last='Ridgeway'] is this team's best player, and he is a smooth and talented scorer with elite size. They have elite energy guys like [player_tooltip player_id='2224010' first='Joell' last='Basue'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2351969' first='Brady' last='Peterson'], who can give you 15-20 points with a handful of rebounds on any given night. [player_tooltip player_id='2780090' first='Max' last='Lawson'] is one of the more slept-on guards in NOVA, and Sep Duggal and Josh Ntiamoah are solid role players for this team. There are other players I didn't list that contribute consistently to this team, and they sit at 10-1 with some outstanding wins.

Robinson
Robinson was a team that I felt would be one of the most improved teams in NOVA, and so far, they look every bit of that. They have a lot of talent in the backcourt, and a lot of that talent is impactful returners that played big roles last year. [player_tooltip player_id='1966646' first='Noah' last='Barnhart'] is one of the better guards in the area, and [player_tooltip player_id='1963547' first='Braxton' last='Sebastian'] is another backcourt player who gives you a lot of great things. Zack Nemets is another solid guard who has had some big scoring games, and G/F Mateen Rahim is a huge piece for Robinson as well. They have already matched their win total from last year with 5.

Yorktown
Yorktown has a handful of quality wins, and they have a few wins over solid teams that they won convincingly. Jake Coulam is a terrific guard who runs the show for Yorktown, and he caught my eye watching this team. Senior Forward Jack Rubin does a lot of great things in the paint and knocks down shots. Austin Barbieri is another fantastic player who does a lot of great things inside. Yorktown is 9-1, with their only loss being to an outstanding Woodson team by 2 points.
