Next up in our preseason coverage of New England's state associations is Vermont and the VPA.

The most notable guard in the state might be South Burlington's [player_tooltip player_id='2453004' first='Deng' last='Aguek'].

Aguek, an explosive combo guard, has a tight handle, shows impressive burst in transition, and scores with craft over size around the rim. He's a capable three point shooter, does a good job of getting his teammates involved, and isn't afraid to sit in a stance and guard in the open floor.

These are five more guards to watch in the VPA this winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2478937' first='Paul' last='Comba']

Comba, a crafty combo guard out of South Burlington, has the ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor this winter. A capable secondary ball-handler, he's able to get downhill off the bounce, makes good decisions in the open floor, and excels on the defensive end of the floor with his ability to create turnovers.

[player_tooltip player_id='2547073' first='Jerrick' last='Jacobs']

A three-level scorer out of Richford, Jacobs has proven capable of regularly going off for big scoring nights. He's a consistent perimeter shooter, whether it be off the catch or using his dribble to create space, does a great job of attacking the defense in transition, and shows a solid feel for the game as a decision maker in the half-court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2453030' first='Andrew' last='Joncas']

Joncas, a two-way impact player out of Danville, has the chance to put up some big numbers this winter. An initiator on the offensive end of the floor, he's got complete control of the basketball in tight space, has deep range on his jumper, and knows how to find shooters off the bounce when he gets a piece of the paint.

[player_tooltip player_id='2568419' first='Sawyer' last='Judkins']

A true floor general, Judkins will have the keys to the offense this winter at Burlington. The sophomore has a knack for getting a piece of the paint, drawing in the defense, and then finding his teammates for easy scoring opportunitites. He's confident with the ball in his hands, limits his turnovers, and knows when to turn it on as a scorer.

[player_tooltip player_id='2547032' first='Dallas' last='St. Peter']

St. Peter, a knock-down perimeter shooter at Rice Memorial, will have an important role this winter on one of the VPA's top teams. He moves well without the basketball, does a good job of cutting with a purpose, and can even score out of the post on paint touches. He makes his mark as a shooter with deep range and the ability to makes shots off of movement.
